Aye, he was fine for a back up on a budget in well managed system. he’s just terrifying if he’s in a poorly managed system and expected to start games. on another note, Rafa did such a good job flipping players and getting the best out of them. If Ashley wasn’t as thick as mince we would have continued in this vein on a small budget and be upper mid table. He had 100% buy in from the squad at the time and was slowly improving us.

I think we have to give Howe more time and resources and see how it goes. If he gets us relegated he should be dismissed however. His mandate was clear and it was to keep us in the league and failure to do so would mean he needs to be moved on. Rafa is a superior manager to Howe, he’s won practically every major honour in the game after all. Given the structures we are looking to put in place I’m not sure appointing him make too much sense as he’s very top down and wants full control of the club which is dangerous in the event either party becomes unhappy with the status quo.

The only capacity he could return in would be manager. DOF for Howe would be a disaster they play two very different styles of football for a start.

To be fair she’s not at all suited to that role imo. Especially with Schar being good with the ball. We don’t even have runners going beyond Wood.

Definitely, I think the longer term plan for Howe is to attack the flanks with the wide players cutting inside to make room for attacking full backs.
