So that’s what they meant, break our loan record
-
We can see from his previous actions he’s not accountable whatsoever, it’s his fault we are in a relegation battle but of course he doesn’t want to take any responsibility for that.
-
Unless Ashley reduces his asking price I think this is dead.
-
Ashley came out and effectively labelled her a time-waster. This is her way of showing (with the permission of the backers) that they were people of real substance- it might not save this deal but it may help the next one. Agreed, if she doesn’t up her offer this deal is dead. Any money Ashley puts into the club has remained on the balance sheet regardless he’s done nothing out of good will as far as the club is concerned.

Chronicle reporting offer still on table and she’s willing to show proof of funds. If she isn’t willing to increase the offer it all seems a little pointless mind.
-
It maybe the case but imagine if like Liverpool we had someone in ready to go, the two points dropped against Swansea could have been two points gained instead we get this penny pinching nonsense.
-
18th of January and no transfers appear to be close. Takeover aside this is absolutely criminal, when we go on another bad run and possibly get relegated I hope people remember these transfer windows before assigning blame.
-
I doubt Arsenal’s board care about the style of football to be honest they are money men nothing more. If Rafa can get Arsenal in the champions league every year whilst spending less than the the competition they would jump at it.
-
I think his statement last night should have made it crystal clear honestly, he’s rejected the offer they’ve made in typical Ashley fashion.
-
Seems dead in the water to me she hasn’t increased her previous bid and that’s been on the table for months, I can’t imagine how this then of events will tempt her to either, no shortage of football clubs to buy imo
-
This all seems to suggest like previously he doesn’t want to sell, it’s just another deflection tactic like the other times he put us up for sale were.
-
We created plenty in the first half and should have won too bad Clark was in no mans land and darlow parried it straight to Ayew
-
People casually forgetting the chances we’ve spurned.
-
Ffs begging to be relegated, the worse case scenario for the club is fucking bleak.

So no progress at all after 2 months, Ashley happy to gamble as always This isn't just down to Ashley though. His reported compromised asking price seems reasonable. You wouldn't take a low ball offer on your house after you've dropped it to a reasonable price... Dont see why he should go any lower. I want him out as much as the next man but we've got to be realistic on what he's going to accept. Total mess and jeopardising our ability to remain in the league. £50m and we could be set back years and years after a 3rd relegation. Seems really cheap and shortsighted to me from the prospective owners. Of course if it's true. Could still be all done, could still be all bollocks and we're being taken for a ride. The offer reflects the current amount of uncertainty regarding our future and considering the complete lack of investment from Ashley and the amount of investment required for us to fulfil our potential seems fair to me at least.

If Conte can fix Barkleys horrendous decision making they have quite the player. I imagine he will be Fabregas’ back up to begin with so he will add some nice variety for Chelsea coming off the bench to begin with.
-
Unsurprisingly frustrating we haven’t got anyone in yet given the predicament. If Ashley gambles and does nothing this month it has potential to be his most costly mistake yet. Given the amount of screw ups during his tenure it would be quite an amazing error.

I appreciate your points but I disagree I think he doesn’t have the attributes, his first touch isn’t the best he isn’t particularly composed he’s not a great passer, he doesn’t get around the pitch well he isn’t strong he just doesn’t have what it takes imo. His strongest attribute is probably his tackling but we sit deep and don’t apply pressure in midfield so that’s pretty much negated too. The point of my post wasn’t to trash him it was to purely illustrate my belief that we will need an upgrade sooner rather than later.
-
Hopefully he’s backed this window if not we are in deep trouble. My support for him is unwavering as many have posted context is king. I just hope the doubters bare in mind we are In profit for transfer under him, yes we haven’t spent a penny under his watch and he’s doing his absolutely best the man is a perfectionist who analyses everything. I fully appreciate the style is pretty dreadful right now but we are working in a division which continues to move forward teams investing vast sums year after year where as we continue to scrape the bottom of the barrel and have done for the ten years. We can’t and won’t be successful until this changes and there is nothing Rafa or anyone else can do to change that.

His distribution is shocking sadly, almost made me miss manquillo.
-
Didn’t look fit yesterday, I’m not sure if he was carrying an injury or he’s tired but we didn’t see any bursts forward or any quick recoveries. Intact I don’t think he sprinted once yesterday which is bizarre.
-
Seems like a nice lad but I think the championship is his level sadly, I just don’t feel he has what it takes for the premier league.
-
Like everyone else I love this kid but I do have a sight concern over his lack of athleticism.

Clark who is much better than lejeune allegedly.
