Next deal has to be more. Let's be clear Sela were just PIFs way of pumping money into the club. The company has very little real world value and must have horrible books The next step will be absolutely fascinating.
-
Another canny heavy wage on Villas books.
-
I don't think it's like that tbh and even if it was it would never play out like that.
-
It's kind odd, we had two outgoings for money (isak aside who was managed by the ownership of we believe the manager) and that was Dubs for a nominal fee and Longstaff who was a firesale because of his contract. Looks like Nickson was sidelined to me.
-
Unfortunately for us the ridiculous rules we have in place enable clubs who are much poorer than us to spend way more. They wasted so much money but the rules allow them to continue to do so despite being 1b in debt before we talk about a new stadium they want to build
-
Lines up as I'm pretty sure the media were crediting A Howe for our incomings.
-
Pl FMV rules exist sadly they would likely try and mark it down. Also bombing players out after one season doesn't seem Eddie's style either.
-
Problem is, we downed tools last season and we all witnessed that. Although we did manage to handle the situation in the worst possible way
-
Most people won't have changed how they voted since September.
-
Gordon has shown over the last what? 18 months that what's best for him isn't best for the team. It's time he took one for the team.
-
We can go pay 5m for Asensio and pick up his 300k per week wages but id be sure he wouldn't get much playing time. Ultimately as the gaffer has said in a roundabout way he doesn't want players on loan so what do you do?
-
Not to be that guy but if we look at those players it's quite simple no? Keepers don't need bedding in. Botman we didn't have many other options Burn we had no other options. Thiaw came in when we had injuries Trips we had no other options/was miles better than what we had. isak came in because we had Wilson who was also injury prone. Also, if you look at all those players they are better than what we had before. We've proven to struggle to replace output recently Murphy is still out best right winger
-
I wouldn't put it that way. isak is definitely a cunt I do have some limited sympathy with Wissa. Ultimately we did what we have a habit of doing and we kicked the can until we couldn't and ended up paying a massive fee for a guy who was at his peak with no resale value Unfortunately we just aren't a savvy elite organisation, we bumble through making do.
-
Unfortunately the ship has seemingly set sail. What we needed to do was spending a quarter of a billion wisely. Alas.
-
As you mentioned Howe doesn't trust a lot of players and we have the trademark bedding in period as well. A loan would be pointless as they would just warm the bench.
-
Which is odd as I railed against the deal and was told no bother he will fire us 25 goals and we will be back in the CL no bother

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (playing for Leeds United)

Absolutely aye, would have been absolutely mad to pay him that kind of wage for the type of role we needed him for. I know he's having a good season and all the best to him but it's not a deal which made sense for us. -
Am I the only one who couldn't give a flying fuck about his preference to play left wing? He plays where he's told and if he doesn't like it he can call his agent
-
And if we don't win games and continue as we are it's a waste plus we don't get the upside of having an asset ultimately we've pissed away so much money we are in a shit position regardless.
-
Your missing my point. Elanga is very much worst case scenario and was a poor buy. If he was good it would be beneficial to amortize the fee. As I said earlier loans unless your getting a Lewis hall are very much emergency break use.
-
Oh for sure, Elanga appears to be a poor buy and yes we won't cover his years amortisation if we loan him out. But at least his age profile gives us a chance. Imagine if Wissa plays like he did at the weekend on a regular basis
-
No we won't, if we say loan elanga in the summer and sell the year after we've amortised his fee for 3 years. So as long as we get 33m for him we would be fine. I wouldn't touch a player like Ramsdale unless he was free.

Yup that's why we passed on him a year ago.
