Oh yeah I think we all know he will be off this summer. Given we stood by him I think it will be done amicably. Once bitten twice shy.
-
It's the sun so it's probably bollocks.
-
Ornstein on the athletic podcast claims we were willing to pay 65m for this lad but wolves insisted not for sale. Not sure if this is new info or not but
-
Listening to the athletic podcast anatomy of a transfer episode and they have Peter Ramage on starts about 40 minutes in. And I do wonder if our processes are mirrored at other clubs.
-
I hear you and couldn't agree more. I'm excited about Hopinkson he seems like he does have ambition but I'm not sure he will have the clout to make them move faster. Every time I read about PIF they are scaling back another overly ambitious project
-
It's hard to say at this stage, I think if we do the training ground the stadium gets done. If that goes to the long grass then all bets are off imo. These issues are ownership defining.
-
I honestly don't think it means anything. It won't be his decision he's just doing a media round. I wouldn't over analyse it because it seems like this is another can which has been kicked.
-
Think he was just talking and signaling this is still the agenda. He won't be anywhere near the decision like
-
I would concur with your last paragraph if this was a senior tournament but it wasn't. Imagine if he'd stayed fit and went to the world cup this summer with the senior side. Two years of no summer break and us picking up the pieces. Ultimately a balance exists and it's not one we've found on this occasion. If we do take a permissive approach as such your advocating we might want to take an appropriate response with our squad building as well.
-
Yup, that's what other clubs do aye. I know it's not palatable like most things in modern day football but it's where we are. Your not surprised Tino picked up an injury are you? Or did you think Trippier would be adequate cover?
-
He isn't. And I understand your concerns I also feel the same way in terms of that appointment. I don't understand why we would ever appointment him but at the same time I do. life as a NUFC fan eh.
-
What difference does it make? Ultimately we don't perform and he will be off regardless. Just means we get the disadvantage of having a fatigued player.
-
By person you mean Ross Wilson? It would be his job to pick the next manager or at least gather a shortlist. If your referring to ownership then they picked Emery and Howe so have a good track record TBF
-
Got you mate, I've had to stop getting up for games being so tired has been affecting the graft It definitely causes that disassociation...
-
You have? If so why?
-
Eh I thought it was more not an Eddie Howe player tbh? Which rings true in our current system.
-
Him being injured was probably the most predictable thing about this season tbh. Letting him play in a kids tournament
-
Auto correct has had me So has proof reading
-
I always take the phrase 10 as basically a creative player. Cherki, Odegaard, Exe, Palmer etc.
-
Maybe harsh but is it true? Yes we lost our striker it's true nothing to debate but clubs lose players every summer, it's apart of the game your recruitment operation is probably defined by how well you succession plan ultimately. I've already set my stall out but I wouldn't be doing anything until the end of the season regardless, we aren't getting relegated so a circumspect approach is needed.
-
Absolutely agree and understand your point but that's the remit isn't it? Let's not believe our revenue will be par with the cartel clubs come 2030. It's rough it isn't easy at all but nevermind what people on here say, from what's been said the club expect European football every year. Swinging back to this board, I think we all knew we couldn't afford to make mistakes In the market and to this point we haven't made one mistake we've made a few and alarmingly it's happened in one window and the window where Eddie had a Free run at it.
-
Something not discussed but worth considering is Eddie's job is to essentially overachieve like. It may not be fair but that's the expectation isn't it? Ultimately they've come out again and said we expect to be winning things in 5 years that's a lot of pressure alone. A lot on here will be able to confirm life isn't fair like, at least Eddie has been well compensated for his sub optimum hand.

The calender doesn't work, they still think it's 2022.
-
Aye we aren't great sellers it's true, I think we are way past that point with Murphy tbh. Very little point selling him he's good to keep in the squad.

Go on then...Rate the January 2026 Transfer Window

Yup, 125m * after him not being for sale, then maybe but for sale. Then 150m and then folding at 125m was poor. Add on the fact we let It drag on and then spent the money on someone who seems ill suited to our style and someone who is 29 and off the back of one great season. Nightmare fuel if we are being honest.
