  1. Why would we sell? Considering the market we should be demanding at least 30million for him. Not because that's what he's worth but because we can. Arsenal are flush with cash, We haven't spent a penny. Wenger is under pressure already too. We can let it become the Carroll Situation again, this bid strikes me as a panic bid at any rate.
  2. Would you be satisfied with a top 10 finish with awful football out of interest?
  3. Goal and a assist. 30 million looks like a bargain, I wonder why Man United weren't in for him. they don't appear to be actually going for anyone, at least not realistic attempts. Fabregas wasn't going to leave Barca yet, and their attempt at Baines Moyes of all people surely knew that low a stating bid would be laughed away As good as Baines is I don't think he'd be a good buy on the basis i feel Evra still has a couple more good years in him. It seems like Man U have missed out on their primary targets i just fear a bid for a Cabaye from them.

  6. Just read on Times football site, they've spent £70m in 2 seasons with next to nothing going out. plus the wages to match that spend, good to see financial fair play is working......... FFP is stupid anyways. All it does is maintain the status quo. Unless you are lucky enough to get a crop of players like Fergie had (Beckham, Scholes etc) You have no chance of progressing. while the current status quo has some club hitting the jackpot because some random sheikh or russian oligarch got bored and suddenly go from non entity to european powerhouse. FFP has problems the most glaring of which is the champions league cash but its better than the current system I couldn't disagree more. Although it benefits people like Ashley who can now use the guise of "FFP" to mask a lack of investment in the club.

  8. I thought I had seen him out wide for Roma last season, but I guess it was Totti who'd been swung-out more often than not. Didn't get much chance to see Roma last season but I'd say your right. I doubt Totti would be pushed out wide unless their manager was stupid.
  9. As Ryan said, Blanc is the weak link for them IMO.
  10. Are they looking as un-balanced as they did last week? They had no width at all last weekend.
  11. TBF to them he's a Belgian international these days so they'll probably profit on him, not that he'll get a game for them. Osvaldo could be a fantastic signing, wonder if they'll rotate him and Lambert? Osvaldo > Lambert = Lambert warms the bench. 4-3-3 chaos Wanyama Schneiderlin Ramirez Osvaldo Lallana Lambert Half-joking. Pretty sure he played out wide at times for Espanyol. Either way he'd do a better job out wide than Cisse is capable of. Southampton haven't half thrown some money around. By being so frugal we are actually going backwards, Looking at other teams around us only emphasises that.
  12. I can't remember anybody saying that wages were our only expense. You may not have noticed but we managed to pay Ashley £11 million in our last set of accounts. Also the amount of free Advertising he's had for Sports direct. How much would that commercial arrangement cost (I'm working on the assumption we had a half decent commercial team)

  14. I think the todays games in Spain have been a very good example of how to play against bigger sides. Levante sat back and got destroyed by Barca. Betis have been aggressive and attacked in numbers at pace and have matched Real Madrid. Villa did the same and came away with a great at The Emirates. I wonder what Pardew will do.
  15. I still struggle to see Bale fitting in there. Ancelotti likes narrow systems but they are getting back to the point where they are putting square pegs in round holes in order to fit all the talented players they have. They could line up like this: Ozil Bale Isco Ronaldo Why would Bale be in the middle? Because that's where he was during the second half of last season for spurs. Most of his goals came from him cutting in from the wing. I just think Isco and Ozil are more natural attacking midfielders I agree with you, what I posted was just an example of how they may line up. Given the players I assume it would be very fluid at any rate.

  17. Wat. You know a source is nonsense when it states "Mike Ashley is prepared to spend"

  19. Alonso injured or benched or what? Injured
  20. Off to Southampton is the rumour. Surely they can't afford him? Where are they getting the money from? Oh yeah, their slice of the biggest TV deal in the sport and/or their ambitious owner investing cash to push the team forward. It seems that way..... Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 51s #SaintsFC are delighted to announce the signing of Italy international striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo from @OfficialASRoma. I'm so jealous of these sides who are showing ambition
  21. Or the season tickets, Or the wonga deal, or the merchandise, or the wages saved by letting 4 first teamers go The Wonga money went on the remy deal i thought?
  22. He's a class act Barca look back to their fluid best.
