  1. What classifies as a good opportunity? the issue with loans for us is we are paying fees and salaries for players we can't amortize so essentially block pathways for other potential players. If we have money and the structure we should be looking to ship out players who arent contributing and bring in players who will. Players who can improve and grow with the club. Given our position, CL is gone so spending what is essentially dead money on temporary fixes makes little sense.
  2. Becoming quite the hoarders are Real.
  3. Nah, I'm sure they are aware the PL market is a bit of a busted flush and things need to change. Sounds like Smit will have better offers anyways.
  4. We do, Pope should have been sold 2 years ago, not because he's bad he isn't but because we can't keep players like we are a retirement home. We need to sell and reinvest in better.
  5. Absolutely, a simple pattern such as a wall pass into him with him returning it to Bruno, who then plays it over the top for Gordon to run on to. He's creating space by dropping it's just we are comical bad at getting the ball to him and obviously his movement and physicality need to improve as well. The fact defenders get so tight to him is a massive opportunity.
  6. A unpopular thought here but worthy of mention regardless. If we take the club at face value Eddie's job is to essentially overpeform our spending power. In order to do that he has more control over things this is the essential trade off. Ultimately we've spent a lot of money and with that comes certain expectations.
  7. He's right. Very little elite level experience which is something lacking throughout the entire club.
  8. I disagree with your last point. If your Mitchell and your supposed power evaporates you have to leave as a professional courtesy. Expecting him to put his name to players who weren't his wasn't the play. We afforded Eddie the same courtesy with Count Vlad after all
  9. Ok let's tackle these one at a time from my POV of course. Fresh targets? Mitchell offered them yet we ended up signing 3 targets which predated him. vetoed certain deals? Maybe but I doubt it. I expect Ross Wilson to sign players Eddie wants and nothing much more. Sold differently? Again I doubt this as other posters have pointed out we have had and continue to have pleasure on our books who are well past the sell by date at the managers behest. How would that have been managed differently? Although I will give you that one as we couldn't have handled it much worst. Very happy he turned out to be shit for them. The alternative isn't something I want to think about
  10. And this is where a bit of disconnection exists imo. Ultimately Eales was CEO and doesn't answer to Eddie Howe. We tried and failed to get in Friedman and Eales didn't want it to drag on. Mitchell's comments were obviously badly worded, and it's difficult to grasp the point he was trying to make. At the end of the day, I'm sure we can both agree that Eddie was happy to see the back of him though.
  11. Interesting, maybe I've been in Asia too long and it isn't a thing here. Klopp fell out consistently with the Liverpool transfer committee but when he was appointed the manager led recruitment model was in its dying days. Today it's totally dead. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but we only knew Howes reaction after Mitchell opened his mouth.

    Yoane Wissa

No, it probably isn't however you have to try as I said. Ultimately we are in a massive rut and creativity will be needed to get us out of it. It's stale and it looks like we've been figured out.
  13. I see this summer of chaos thing quoted a lot, people citing it as the factor for our poor start but I'm really curious to hear what would be different if we had Ross Wilson this summer? I mean time will tell but I don't think it say keeps Isak (he wanted out regardless imo) or convinced any of those missed targets to join us.

Obviously the balance changes, everyone knows this but they had a week to prepare and what they served yesterday wasn't acceptable again. We really need to start exploring alternatives and quickly..
  15. Hmmm not where I work it isn't. Was your boss ran by you before he was hired? Sincere question.

I wish we tried something different to get us out of our away form rut.
  17. Can't be fucked going through the atheletics archive but I do recall reading it was ran past him.

Yes pathetic. Losing and more of the same, at some point he had to switch it up and yesterday was the perfect opportunity to do so. They were for the taking man.
  19. Pretty sure the athletic said it.

It was pathetic decision making from the manager if we are being all the way honest
  21. The thing about Wissa is pretty clear like. Obviously Mitchell's work if he did any was promptly thrown in the bin the moment he was kicked to the curb leading to us having very few options. We had no intentions of paying daft money for Wissa because it is and was a horrible financial deal, ultimately like always with Nufc the can got kicked all the way down the road until we had no choice but to bend over. Almost harks back to Guehi the summer before... Remember the stories Guehi was the only one the gaffa wanted.
  22. The job who he had a hand in hiring? You see the issues yesterday
