Burn v Salah, can’t see that ending well. Prove me wrong Danny boy

The thread is about players who we think would be world class and it seemed to me that you used a PL and a CL medal as an argument to claim a player is world class, I just opposed to that. Yeah mediocre is probably the wrong word. David May has no caps though.
-
World class? Dunno. Maybe. EDIT: I think it’s more that he became a different player than I thought. Less spectacular.
-
Just saying you don’t have to be ”world class” to have won both the PL and the CL. Loads of Man U players come to mind. Nicky Butt. David May. Wes Brown. Jesper Blomquist. OGS.
-
I think he could play as an attacking minded 8 with the right players behind him. Can play on the wing and up front as well.
-
You could say that about loads of mediocre/decent players though.

Wijnaldum

Yohan Gourcuff

Kieron Dyer

Joe Cole maybe, mostly because of the hype when he was at West Ham

Just my 2p but Gibbs-White would offer something that we don’t have I think. Read somewhere that he could be available for around 50m but what do I know
-
I loved Mo Diame. And so did Rafa
-
Gibbs-White is a good player, feel like he could/should play for a better team.

No Burn please

I’m fully in support of EH and don’t want him replaced anytime soon. He’s done better than anyone could have asked for. My post was more about actually walking out on your football club because of a managerial change you don’t agree with, something that will happen time and time again. Except if your owner is Mike Ashley, then you get Alan Pardew on an 8 year contract.
-
Really? I mean I don’t want him either, I see him as a has-been and I don’t think it would work. But seems a bit extreme to walk out. He’s no Steve Bruce, and we would still have ambitious owners who would pull the plug when needed. When Ashley hired one of his goons it was natural to want to stop caring. Pre-Ashley I don’t think many Newcastle fans reasoned like that, even if you despised Souness there wasn’t much talk of walking out. Or is it that you’re not on board with the Saudi ownership and it’s Howe who keeps you interested? Could understand that. Just curious…

Full backs, mainly (Trips and Burn) It’s also about substitutions, he tends to make late ones. For me it’s just natural to think that we’ve suffered due to the amount of games, playing the way we do.
-
but maybe the injuries are partly an effect of not rotating the squad enough while playing an intense pressing game. And a small(ish) squad.
-
Man Utd have really worked their way into the game and been clearly better in the 2nd half tbf. The cunts.
-
This, pretty much. I love EH, he’s the man for the job, hopefully for years to come. But there’s no doubt he has a weakness when it comes to rotating the squad and making subs in time.

Will be interesting to see Villa here, no reason they can’t get 3 points

Wood hattrick, you have to laugh
