  1. This is simply not right, Moyes is a cautious manager I agree, but he's cautious and able to actually set up a football team, to organise them, to get a defence organised, to play players in their correct places, to have a gameplan. Everton were fairly easy on the eye when he left, he'd have a good squad as a starting point with us so I see no reason why it would be as horrific as his early Everton days personally. He doesn't deserve comparison to Pardew imho, he's earned more than that in his career.
  2. Nah. Moyes is clearly a better manager and, above all, he's much less of a despicable wanker.
  3. Jonathan Edwards is sporting the Pardew look these days. http://i2.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article7037594.ece/alternates/s615/JS33934134.jpg
  4. “The short-term run we are on has clouded the picture, but we can’t get away from it." Short-term run. What, since Boxing Day?

How is this kid not locked up? Oh yeah, he's fairly good at playing football. Sickening.
  6. His reputation has taken a beating, the top teams wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. If it's between us, Villa, West Ham, Norwich etc then I'd say there's a chance.
  7. Fulham-Hull has been shocking so far.
  8. Howay Soton, close to the title now.
  9. Means they brought balls to the training ground.
  10. About this fixture 13 years ago. Great memories: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/10788617/When-Newcastle-United-manager-Bobby-Robson-told-Arsenal-counterpart-Arsene-Wenger-to-learn-how-to-lose.html

  13. When seeing the question it's a no-brainer for me, rather support a mid-table side with tradition than a brand name. But at the same time, during the Ashley era it feels like we've been re-branded in a way, it's certainly not the club I started supporting as a bairn. When the stadium name was changed, I was pissed off and disgusted, but it never occured to me that I should stop supporting Newcastle. Ashley, Pardew, Kinnear, Sports Direct Arena, Wonga, no ambition, I'm still here. Fucked for life, couldn't switch teams even if I tried. It's easy to say you just wouldn't care about a red & white Newcastle Red Bulls team, but if they won the Champions League I'd probably celebrate. In shame. Where do you draw the line? Is Newcastle Red Bulls playing in black & white ok? Newcastle United in red & white? Black & white away tops? Absurd questions, but we've undeniably accepted a whole lot of shite already.
  14. He's actually called Leslie, I think.
  15. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Robben is a way better player Depends completely how you look at it. Ribery offers more throughout the pitch, Robben is more dangerous in the final third. If I had to pick one player in my team of the two it would be Ribery every day for what he offers both ways. This, pretty much. Ribery is certainly not overrated, just a different, more versatile player than the players he's often compared with. Great player.
  16. The 4-4-2 is so much better than the 4-5-1 for this type of match. Gives you a real chance on the counter. A 4-5-1 would have the team chasing shadows all the time. Get a break in a 4-4-2 and there's options galore. Its more of a 433 than 442, just with the top three rotating a lot In defence it's been 4-4-2.
