Arteta outside of his box. Red card the fucker.

Cfs summing up of VAR; Just fucking give the goal. They're taking about players arses now.
-
That's the sticking point really. He isn't entitled to do that. At least not a comparable job with a business rival. If he wanted to go shelf stack at the local supermarket I'm sure we'd let him but he'd still be subject to the not working for our rivals clause.
-
Us: You signed a contract until 2026. Him: But you didn't really mean that did you? I think is probably the extent of his argument.
-
It's pretty schoolboy stuff. If you try and tempt an employee from a rival you make sure you're in a position to actually get them. Either because you know their contract is shortly over or because you've agreed terms to release them early. Or you do whatever it is Man Utd are doing.
-
It'll be considerably more common for employment law to be applied at the executive level. I suspect the relevant part of his contract is you are with us until 2026 and you may not work for a rival before that time without our permission. And we are under no obligation to release him from that contract. The fact we are where we are suggests to me Ashworth is fucked and probably knows it. He expected Man Utd to pay what they needed to and he'd be over there already. Now he's looking at losing 2 years of his career and it's self inflicted.

Brighton now 11th with a negative goal difference.
-
Looking forward to the daily countdown on Bruno's window.
-
I think that's something you can train to a degree. He'll not be one of those players who just instinctively knows what to do but he can certainly improve.
-
I don't know his contract but the fact it's gone on this long suggests he's stuck with us until the end date. Whether what we are asking for to mutually agree to end the contract early is realistic or not I don't think is relevant.
-
Why are you responding to a point I was making with a completely different one? Nothing to do with compensation. He could have just wanted to stay and have a long term project with us/Brighton. That clearly wasn't his priority and he'd rather climb up to what he sees as the bigger clubs.
-
I meant the fact he quickly upped sticks for what he thought was a better job. He's done the same with us.
-
Hopefully we got what we wanted out of him. I'd happily just see him rot until the end of his contract. Some compensation would be nice but it's probably small fry in terms of overall picture of FFP. My dream scenario is Man Utd decide fuck it and get someone else in instead and he's just left out to dry. I don't begrudge people career advancement but come the fuck on you were only here for a year. Given we prised him from Brighton in similar circumstances we shouldn't be surprised I guess.

Ref's been fine tonight. Don't even think he got the penalty shout wrong.
-
He plays 5 a side every week too (or did, might be a bit busy these days). Unlike most politicians he's actually a football fan.
-
Starmer is an Arsenal fan. Doubt he'll be building a stadium for Man Utd.
-
Going to be laughs where every club needs to sell for FFP reasons but there's no one to sell to because we are all in the same boat.
-
Playing devil's advocate slightly isn't this potentially good for the lower league teams in the sense that rather than earning a replay that they'll probably lose they instead get to go to penalties and this have a better chance of getting to the next round? Though I'm still against this change obviously.
-
It makes sense Arguably in some ways xA is a more useful metric than xG. A top quality striker can outperform xG by being good. WIth assists though you're at the mercy of who you are assisting. You'll have a much higher assist number if it's Isak you're creating the chance for vs Gayle for instance. it's just a way to measure the amount and quality of chances created. As with any other stat it's not the be all and end all.

Lots of players would have flung themselves to the ground there trying to buy a free kick.
-
I reckon he'd get the Chelsea treatment from the fans and be seen as someone who is beneath them and would end up under pressure quite quickly. Still though. Do a job for a few months and enjoy the payoff afterwards. Take a leaf out of his boss's book.

I didn't even know this was a thing. Slightly baffled if I'm honest but a particular shout out to "game is far from over".
