Watching MOTD and the city hand ball and I agree with the on field call. The defenders arm was outstretched but it didn't hit that part of him arm. It hit the underneath the armpit area which would have been there wherever the rest of his arm might have been. Right call and good job for standing up for himself.

I'm not sure how much of this is really an us problem vs how much the rest of the league have realised how good a tactic defending deep can be when coached well. Hell we've been historically very good at it we've needed to be. There's probably a reason Arsenal score so many of their goals from set pieces and spend so much time passing the ball sideways. Just feels like this is the way the league is playing at the moment.

We have about the 7th most expensive squad/highest wage bill in the PL and that's the position we are about in whilst also in the semi finals of the league cup, still in the FA cup, in a good spot to go to knockouts of the CL. I feel like he needs to play some away games to try and get his confidence up outside of SJP. Hardly a great situation to be in. Obviously as with any of our players I'd really like to see him turn this around and hope this is just a period of very bad form and he's better than this. Unfortunately though I just don't see it.
