Was always happy with longstaff as a more than capable bench option this season, but the minutes he has played is just unprecedented. He needs a rest, and the way this season is going EH might as well just give him it now because I'm struggling to notice any positive contribution other than existing as a half fit body on the pitch. Don't want to lay into him, sure he would admit the performances have fell off a cliff.

I seriously contemplated leaving because I was getting more and more negative, thought everyone would be sick to fuck of me. Really was hapless for 60 minutes. I stayed firm and annoyed people for a little bit longer until the chaos.

Think FFP doesn't allow us as much reassurance as the established top clubs about your top players leaving. Obviously it can happen to any club, but we are probably nearing the point of having to offload proven quality to allow spends.

Voted stay but that would be totally dependant on what/how they feel they could better St James'. Interested to see what the feasibility reports have came back with and what the club propose. And that ignores the rushed through associated party sponsorship rules which put a quick block on any potential trial of doing that. But that's what having at least two technically proficienct players to a position will give you. Longstaff et al can barely trap a ball atm nevermind play triangles out of trouble. obviously going forward it would be great if we could change the tactics from run harder than the opposition but I think this team is just bottomed out after a ridiculous season of shit going wrong. Not actually sure what needs to happen, but picking up injuries every game is such a mentally damaging aspect, and Howe could do himself a few more favours with regards to rotation instead of literally killing a player off.
