What a cunt he looks with that 'dance' though...

Classy A waste of water with almost no football about to be played there. You'd imagine with 72% possession that the ball will be in the half Liverpool are attacking c.3x as much as the other one.

We need a striker (well, four) but if you're looking for a de Jong substitute then Tadic was your man. Koeman came with a shopping list from NL and he's working his way through it. No wonder he wasn't on Ashley's radar. What's this shopping list you speak of, Ronnie ol' chap? Koeman has an extensive list of players from the NL leagues and is sort of working his way through it. Should someone come in for Tadic/Pelle, for example, he's got replacements lined up. Then he's been adding players here and there from NL. Done some research before he got here, and of course has incredible contacts in NL who are scouting for him at all levels in NL, France, Belgium, and Germany, etc... Carver's contact list extends to, what, Morpeth Town?

Like Jon Dahl Tomasson, and his subsequent UEFA Cup win at Feyenoord and European Cup medal at Milan?

I saw Hibs dismantle them 4-0 in late December. Rangers are an absolutely appalling side - the 'heed would beat them at a canter.

Fancy going back to that Palace forum with me when it all falls apart? So much Years and years ago, the night Boro lost in the UEFA Cup final 4-0, after months of "Geordies at home, watching the Bill", dozens of us off here invaded one of their forums with usernames like DCI Jack Meadows and PC Reg Hollis. They didn't have the wherewithal to ban us, they just got increasingly angry and upset as the night went on. Still the funniest night I've ever had on here. I'm well up for an invasion after a Palace disaster. Hate to brag but I guarantee I had a funnier night than you as I was at that game and then spent most of the following day hanging round Den Bosch station with my toon top on as the smogs changed for the train to Amsterdam.

Unless the 'other dad' has forearms the size of that cabbie who took up Carver's invitation to discuss matters at training following the game where he lost the plot with the fans...
-
If that's the case, why isn't he confirmed already? They have to make it look like they've at least tried to find an alternative. Next few days he'll be announced to the end of the season, and as long as he isn't a total disaster I really wouldn't be surprised to see him appointed permanently in the summer. He is a total disaster, and he'll still probably get it regardless.

We're a 'provincial club' was a recent one I saw on swallowswallow.com - apparently no bigger than Blackburn Rovers. Oddly, Blackburn seem to be getting bigger gates than Rangers at the moment. Blackburn won the premier League. Forest won back-to-back European Cups - does that make them a bigger side than us? Anyone who suggests we're a provincial club is just shooting themselves in the foot with a wildly subjective point. More so when Ibrox is getting about 14,000 for some home games these days. To be fair, they are voting with their feet and not turning up which is something we could learn from as a fanbase I wouldn't argue with that. I've a fantasy of us being on Sky versus someone half-decent and only 2,000 mags in the ground.

Aye, but who the f*ck gives one as to what he thinks? Not so long ago his twitter profile had him 'working for The Times and Sunday Times' because he once filled out one of those pre-season fans' questionnaires for them. A total nobody - except in his own mind.
-
I think a lot of the antipathy towards Rangers stems from their fans and how they continually insult us for having pointed out the obvious. Snide little comments on followlollow.com abound. Apparently we are a 'provincial' club, that WE are getting what we deserve for letting Ashley in, that the fact that we still get 50,000 makes us mugs (it does) yet this comes from a club that, apparently, 'doesn't do walking away', despite significant evidence to the contrary. Rangers have - in the 30 years on and off I have lived in Scotland -always thought of themselves as a cut above and now that they are tenth-rate both as a club and a side, it's someone else's fault. In this case, a lot of their fans seem to think that it's our fault, and that grates.

Basic, in the region of £275-£300,000. I know he had a fairly complex bonus structure in his contract - and does again, at Rangers (where he's on less, but not by much). Funnily enough I am writing about gaming regulation in Malta at the moment - I'd best get on.
-
I'm quite close to someone who used to be very high up at an EPL club and a lot of the CEOs discuss payment packages at various clubs - those who don't get decent coin tend not to say anything, and that's Charnley and a couple of others. A figure was arrived at for what he would have been on at the time and that has resurfaced recently with Jabba's involvement at Rangers - where every sports journalist in Scotland has a contact, and I know 90% of sports journalists in Scotland. I also know two admin staff at NUFC and know exactly what a number of other backroom staff are on.
-
I'm aware of that. Based on what he was on - peanuts - as club secretary, and based on what Llambias was on (significantly more), etc, I have *sigh* a very good idea of what he's on now - but it's a joint effort. His bonus might be £500,000 for EPL survival, I don't know, but I doubt it.
-
Yes, I do. Information is about 12 months old, I grant you, but still - I feel - gives me a 'very good idea'.
-
I have a very good idea of what he's on and his basic is well under £100,000. I don't know what bonus he gets for us finishing 17th or whatever.
-
He's been running the club for over 18 months now, easily can make a judgement. 'Incompetent 'yes man'' would cover it for me.
-
You can sleep soundly. He's gonna end up like Kenny Sansom. Totally inevitable. Or the husband of one of the many woman with whom he has (allegedly) conducted extra-marital affairs will stab him to death.

That's £12m worth of potential? What he showed was not even a tenth of the £6m we actually paid for him. -
Go Chris Coleman...

This. There is no 'short list'. It's all bollocks.
