  1. So you try to create a debate then bottle it and run when you do. Hardly any debate here. I want HBA to play as much as any other. What I said was that it's pointless to argue on this matter because people are so biased. And ffs I think I made a good point. When people commented that the overweight talk was bullshit and wanted "proof" I linked to one of the many articles thats been on the matter. All I call for is some rationalism. Ffs
  2. 0.2 grams, according to Google. http://cdn.vectorstock.com/i/composite/60,00/matchstick-vector-1516000.jpg Boxing reference ffs
  3. Alright I'm out. This is pointless.
  4. And too be fair this is not 1.3kg over match weight - I would imgaine this is "if you come back **% over match weight you'll be fined", and he did. I am no fan of Pardew and I love watching HBA play, but the glorification of this man is getting ridiculous. YES he has been treated badly, but that doesn't mean he has not acted unprofessionally. It's like talking about darwin to mormons in here.
  5. I agree it's a rigid rule set, but this was an answer to the people who said that this was all bullshit.
  6. I love arguing with a bunch whos comeback is "LOL" and "stfu".
  7. Jesus christ... it's f***ing everywhere! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/10975152/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-faces-axe-from-Newcastle-United-pre-season-tour-after-returning-to-training-overweight.html

  9. I think those of you that says he didn't weigh in over the said rules and that this is all a conspiracy, are the once who should provide proof tbf.
  10. This makes no sense at all, from any angle. So we shouldn't have signed him or got excited? Forget about how highly he's been rated since he was a child, and almost every f***er in France seems to know about him and have an opinion on him? Right. And you shouldn't take into concideration that he has had a troubled history in both Lyon and Marseille and didn't fulfill his potential in either Lyon or Marseilles? Right-o. He is a talented player - that's a given. But to be a wonderchild and to be spoken about doesnt mean alot when push comes to shove. I'm not comparing these players, but with that logic we should sign Freddy Ady and Denílson. I love watching him play and he can do magic on his own, but the onesided argumentation defending him is starting to get a little boring listening to.
  11. Ben Arfa started almost as many games on the bench at Marseille and had an even poorer record of goals and assists. I agree he is a joy to watch but people have a tendency to go all creationism when they defend him.
  12. And is he not really more of a winger?
  13. The actual kit isn't half bad imo, but no matter what yous stick that logo on it's gonna look like a plastic bag.

    Loïc Remy

Also fits their strategy to buy Southamptons entire team.
  15. --------------Riviere------------------- --Cabella----De Jong-----Sissoko-- --------------------Grenier------------- ---------------Tiote--------------- ...with Sissoko pulling towards the centre as Janmaat comes forward. Done.
  16. Ok - the Grenier rumours are boiling now.
  17. The original quote in fact says that we're bound to loose out on yet another target as Lyon looks to tie up a new contract with him, and that they would be more tempted to let Grenier or Umtiti go. How du you translate that into "Newcastle have made spectacular bid for Lacazette and Grenier"? Jeez.
  18. If anything that suggests we aren't expecting to make any more signings if we are chasing strikers who have already made it clear they don't want to come here. The source in L'equipe reads that a deal is unlikely. Somebody failed their french class.

  20. The only place where what you call your formation has any significant relevance, is on manager games and to get an overview when you read the starting line-up, in my opinion. Once the whistle blows, it has very little relevance. What matters is the role each player has, how every player move, number of players closing down, runs, creating space for eachother, simultanous movement, etc. Formation could also alternate as of where on the pitch you want to centre the game, and in my opinion the best teams in the world are those that are totally dynamic formation-wise. Key for me is a tactic that makes sure every player fills a role that matches their skills and makes sure they always can play on their strenghts.
  21. Grenier is the closest we'll get to replace Cabaye's good looks.
  22. 4-2-3-1 is basically just a 4-4-2 with two deeplying central midfielders and a second striker who drops down. If your main focus is what to call your formation on paper, I'm guessing your focus is wrong.
  23. If James end up on the bench it will almost piss me off.
