All though Rüdiger has gotten his debut in the German national side, he has only got one full season in the Bundesliga under his belt as far as I know, so I'd prefer someone a little bit more experienced. He's a big talent, but I feel it could be well much to expect him to make an impact in the PL straight away. Abdennour on the other hand looks like a leader and has the experience, but would he come here? He would also be a cup of nations candidate, wouldn't he? I would at least be much more comfortable with an experienced player next to Mbemba.

But he has been quoted by a bunch of lazy journalists and blogs, so I say it's pretty likely to happen. In more serious news we've scouted Robin Knoche in two previous windows.

Why do he need to wait to see him in action? Why don't he just look at some of the games from last season? Move it, Schteve!

But who is that holding midfielder though? We might have some options, but they're all poor. And in my mind that's a key position if we're to do anything about our horrible defence.

Mario Lemina would be great from what I've read about him, but I hope we bring in someone more experienced this window too. Both at CM and CB.

Antonio Rudiger (Stuttgart) or Joel Matip (Schalke) is my guess after all the recent links. We've been linked with Robin Knoche earlier, allthough he would likely cost more. Then there's Stefan Bell at Mainz.

I would consider us overstocked in the central midfield area now. Doubt we will see a DM unless we sell. Doubt it too, but I still feel the qualities of our CM's are too unbalanced. Either they're better in a more offensive position or they're simply not good enough. If we got in a proper DM that could tackle and close down, it would provide much needed cover for our helpless defence. Ideally Tiote could fill that roll if he were to have a decent season or even stay in the club. Right now I'm more worried about how horrid we look when we loose the ball than our lacks in offence.

I maintain that we need a proper DM first of all, but I wouldn't mind him at all.

Why all the talk of Shaqiri all of a sudden? Isn't he on his way to Schalke?
