A lot of the games this season at home have been pretty shit. Pretty boring. But clearly, we're hard to beat at home. I think 6 home wins is acceptable, considering we're on 26 points from 17 games. Last season we lost 10 home games, and ended up on 25 points. We picked up 3 more points at home the season we went down. We’ll probably match that this season (unless we fluke a result against Liverpool) but that’s shocking. It's not shocking. Our home form is steady. That relegation season our home form was decent but our away form was absolutely gash and that's why we went down.

How about beating Spurs away? How about beating Man United at home? How about beating Chelsea at home? How about doing the double over Sheffield United without conceding? The Brighton and Norwich games were horrific tbf. But if you don't win, then at least don't get beat. And no shit team has beaten us at home. We have shown fight at home. Watford 1-0 down - come back for a draw. City behind twice, come back for 2-2. Bournemouth 1-0 down, come behind to win the game 2-1. Southampton 1-0 down, come back to win 2-1. West Ham behind twice, come back for 2-2. We work hard at home, and we're always in the game. Only 1 game of 17 we've not been in that game at all (Leicester) and that shows we have some character at home.

Enlighten me - when were we in serious relegation trouble? On October 5 the FiveThirtyEight site was quoting a 41% chance of relegation and projected us to finish in 18th place. At that stage we were 19th and had just lost 5-0 to Leicester. I was seriously worried and wasn't the only one. Who the fuck judges their team after SEVEN FUCKING GAMES? I'm quite definitively non-plussed over this whole season, mainly over my disillusionment thanks primarily to Ashley. Am I not allowed to continue disliking Steve Bruce as much for his personality as his management ability? But with Bruce if he was any kind of Newcastle fan which he isn't any kind of Geordie that he might like to pretend to be at times, he would have steered clear of working under this regime, most of us thought we'd turned the corner with Rafa, but it was more piss poor treatment, like Keegan and Houghton before hand. But I don't suppose I'd be bothered if Bruce was sacked tomorrow or even if the new owners don't want him.
