He does start all the time though. Funny like, I don't remember this fawning over him when he was at Sunderland, or a burning desire for such a great player to play for Newcastle. There are few people defending him because he gets over the top criticism/abuse on here. Thankfully it doesn't exist outside this forum. That said I saw some places have him down as MOTM yesterday, which is equally absurd. He shouldn't be in our starting 11 because we should be aiming higher but there is a place for him in our squad. Exactly. Nobody is fawning over him at all.

Feeling ropey today. Thank god I've got work off like Felt like a lot less Pardew style Hoof-ball yesterday, which is encouraging. It's didn't always work, but we tried to keep the ball down. Fair play to Obertan - cross for 2nd goal was spot on.

He did fade yesterday but so did the whole team. His block at the end was excellent though, and I thought his passing kept us ticking over. And it showed when Tiote came on - the difference is plain to see. Tiote is gone, he is s*** now. Sometimes I wonder about this Board, because the opinion of people in the stands I speak to, and in the pub is different to on here. People think he is a decent player, maybe not starting all the time, but a useful squad member. On here, it's relentless negative banter.

Intrigued to see what formation we go for. Going to be a tough game but Southampton are away in Europe on Thursday, so hopefully that'll will help us. Well up for a big drink on Sunday. Hardly drank much past month. Ready to get involved. Day off work Monday, so PS4 and KFC for me. Hopefully after 3 points.

Well written post. I'm not 100% agreeing with it, but you do make some valid points. Much better post than just calling him a f***ing ginger c***. I'm not convinced Colback is good enough for a 2 man centre midfield, but I certainly think he can be useful for in a 3 man centre midfield, and he can play full-back if we have bad injury crisis. I just feel we've got more pressing issues (getting rid of Wilko, Gouffran has to be No.1 priority). We still need more strength in CB and up front, and ideally on the wing.

Shit like this I can't stand. By all means, if you don't rate Colback - then fine. The forum is good for debate and discussion. But shitty little posts like this mean nothing.
