The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Postecoglu told to rack off by Spurs
mighty__mag replied to cp40's topic in Football
Hope they go after Emery. -
The caller went onto congratulate Pardew on doing an amazing job as Newcastle manager, and said I think you'd love to be in charge now. Jesus fucking christ They have to be prank calls

Lately I can't decide whether our fans are really this mental, or this is top trolling. Sell Isak, buy Sinclair Armstrong, Who ?

That's not quite true though is it. I assume you're basing it on the formation he goes with? Eddie Howe works on player patterns within the formation, the patterns of play are changing within the game, for example when Miggy was in the form of his life he was working with Trippier and Bruno, you'll see players swapping roles all the time, but, I think currently its not quite working, perhaps because he's using different personnel and thinks they have different attributes therfore he might try something different, for example Livramento, infact rather than pin it on Livramento, that whole right side, it's not working like it did, people have gone on about predictability, I'd argue that's true, as where I've pointed out the right, its because we do everything down the left, especially if Anthony Gordon is playing. I think Howe needs to balance the side, have equal threat on both wings, and start encouraging fullbacks to work with the wingers, and deliver support in attack. Howe won't deviate to new formations, he'll just keep tweaking the patterns of play, but it's up to the players to get it right in the moments, or Howe needs to change those patterns or revisit those that worked better previously. personally overlapping fullbacks over this stupid inverted shit when we go to a back three.

Come on man, you can't use that comparison

Jesus the comments on this video.

The three in midfield are all basically doing similar on the pitch, it's absolutely pointless. I don't feel like Bruno and Tonali are suited at all, sort of agree with @James saying look at the midfield that got us into Europe, Willock was in the form of his life prior to the injury he got late in that season. I think getting Trippier, Wilson, and Botman back will be huge, and improves the choices from the bench to affect games. Still think Howe has this, but he needs all his players, the current options are limited, plus the loss of Gordon who would have been very useful today.
-
I'd have Joelinton holding with Tonali, and give Bruno the freedom to be creative.
-
Been a bit scrappy, Livramento was awful on the first goal, Joelinton fairly sloppy, Hall has been excellent. We seem to take too long on the ball, whereas Chelsea zip around quick creating fast counters.

I was originally here for the Isak topic, see the original post, if you can actually be arsed. Literally never once mentioned our form this season or last, apparently we've been shite for 18 months, and our star players should be looking to move, I couldn't understand that take. Thanks for dragging me back in, to once again explain myself. Read through the to and fro, rather than quote the bits that suit.

They all did the exact same thing with Bruno, and he went nowhere, even with a release clause.

Considering I only posted my opinion on the press twisting Isaks contract, that sure got long winded. If I'd posted about our form past and present, I'd stand by last season as unfortunate. This season I still feel its early days, like I said four games in and it's Newcastles best start to a season in 29yrs, four more games and its not as rosy, but, we have a long way to go, I'm obviously taking the pragmatic approach, but to be fair, I see your point on the performances, they haven't been great, but many players have looked slightly off, perhaps it's just taking a bit longer for the sharpness to come back, just give it time, and try and not write us off so soon.
-
There you go! You've answered your own doubts
-
Im not making an argument? Stating the obvious, and yes after our first four games it was reported it was Newcastles best start to a season in 29 years, and as mentioned previously, we were not really bang average all season, we really struggled with injuries, and just fell short of a European place, still finishing above Man Utd, and Sunderland.
-
Considering the injury crisis we had last season, we were unfortunate to just fall short of a European spot, currently we're eight games into a season. What the hell are you getting at?
-
Find it incredible that a question about contracts (Gordons) leads to Isak's contract, Howe answers saying he isn't directly involved in contracts and that's handled by other individuals at the club, he mentions Alex currently has a long term deal and is one of the highest paid currently. Somehow the press manipulate that into a new story about Arsenal are now on high alert, Isak wants champions league football, and contract talks have stalled at Newcastle. I need to start watching other managers press conferences, because I'll bet my house, none are as ridiculous as ours, it's like they can't just ask about the forthcoming fixture, it's always got to be some dumb ass questions, and something that they can make into a drama.

Abdul Fatawu Rw solved 👌

Barca and Man City were both next level, superb to watch. Stand outs, obvious, Savinho and Yamal, both have insane technique
-
I'm sure this was our best start to a season in like 29yrs after four games. So obviously Howe is doing something right, the football and what the players are showing us on the pitch so far this season doesn't represent what Eddie Howe pushed for in his first 18 months, I think if he had a fully fit squad, and there was absolutely no influence from above, you'd likely see Livramento and Hall both dropped, his favoured back four would be Trippier Shar Botman Burn. I just feel he's now being told what to do with players especially ones aging, as those above him look to phase aging players out, Miggy, Trippier, Wilson, perhaps if we had more CB cover Burn might find himself in the firing line. Obviously this approach is sensible long term, but those managers that have a trusted system and trust senior players more, don't always like influence from those above.
-
Naa he's just too afraid to upset Gordon. You could see the benefit when we used to rotate Isak and Wilson a few seasons back, with Gordon and Barnes Howe seems reluctant, forcing us to use weaker players, with a right side of Murphy and the current Livramento form, it's easy to play against, teams will know we only carry a threat on one side of the pitch.
-
Just seen this guy, Nestory Irankunda! Probably everyone already knows about him, What got me though was this tweet highlight reel, Reminds me of Oba Martins, Pace, rocket of a shot, the backflips, and he looks about 26 but he's 18?
-
Pickford man, what a tosser, acting like he's an outfield player, he moves totally weird. Idiot!
-
Pickford is dog shit. And that Rico Lewis ain't a defender

Properly shite trim. Looks like something out of the Argentina school of hair, all those guys have ridiculous cuts. Reference Martinez
