He can be criticised and I agree with most that we need a change of approach in our home matches but in the long run we've been fine and we're top of the league and highly likely to be promoted. We're going to lose games, we're going to put in the occasional s*** performance every now and again. Every team comes to SJP with no pressure on getting a result, it's a cup match for them - they have nothing to lose whereas we have everything to lose. Yesterdays defeat wasn't because Rafa got it wrong - it was because the team on the pitch were pathetic, clearly uninterested at times and ambled around like a bunch of tossers. Under previous managers, this would go on and on and on. Under Rafa I have no doubt he'd have called people out, there will be changes in the next game and we'll go back to a performance we expect. After every defeat at home this season, we've won the following game. Looking at some of the horrifically s*** posts on here after a defeat, it's unsurprisingly the rest of the world think we're deluded or have unrealistic expectations. Pathetic posts from people who wet the bed more often than not.

100% this.

Given no chance with the service to him. Long balls miles ahead of him. -
The fact that you should pronounce the K in Knockaert like it's separate from the rest of his name. K-Nockaert.

Hull's pitch with those lime green lines. Egg chasing ffs.
-
Commentator desperate to claim Wilshire won the game singlehandedly after coming on.

One bad game and suddenly he's thrown under the bus by the bed wetting brigade. Was he not fairly instrumental in our hugely important win over Huddersfield only a week ago?
-
No it isn't. The likes of Huddersfield have gone from relegation fodder to promotion contenders overnight without actually doing anything. It's a poor league and nobody can convince me otherwise. Aye, it's a poor league in comparison to the PL - but it's much more competitive and the teams are stronger this year than it was when we were last in it. Huddersfield have actually made a lot of changes to their team from last season, so you're wide of the mark there.

That season is incomparable, the competition is a lot stronger this year.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

It's worth remembering that our final four games are: Ipswich (a), Preston (h), Cardiff (a) and Barnsley (h). Four teams who will have absolutely nothing to play for and we've beaten all four of them already this season. -

why do you want them to make the payoff? imagine having to play them? its quite possible anarl Because based on what I've seen of them this season, they deserve to be in there. We're not going to be in the playoffs, the usual absolute meltdown on here after one bad result. We've came through a tough set of fixtures and now have a relatively easy run-in. -
A professional footballer at this level should not wet themselves because they are playing in front of 50k and there are a few moans and groans when mistakes are made. A completely daft excuse and the easy way out. We lost todays game because we were out fought for the entire match, nowt to do with the crowd. Fulham closed us down and were first to everything. We were subdued and looked uninterested for most of it. The fact that Ritchie was screaming at his team mates 5 minutes in because he had no support closing down suggested early on it was going to be a long day.

A superb performance by Fulham, well done them. I hope they make it into the playoffs playing like that, much better than the dross of Reading. One of our random days where we just don't turn up at all, not a single starting player was even 4/10 today. Woeful. -
Well I used to think they were okay. Hope Norfolk drifts off into the sea now mind. Twats.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Back down to a 4. Everyone around us keeps winning! Rafa out. We should be 100 points clear by now. -
-
Wonder if they still have an outside chance of the playoffs - only 9 points off. They have a decent team, they could easily go on a good run under a new manager.

The reason they were moved from the west corner of the L7 Leazes to the east side was to assist policing/stewarding i.e. only having one end of segregation. Would cause problems to move them anywhere else now. Aye, hopefully the club will get their own way. Absolutely ridiculous rule that offers f*** all other than inconveniencing clubs like us with a grand stadium rather than those daft Lego setups. Agreed. Why was the rule put into place anyway? To give fans a worse view and cause massive inconvenience for stewards and police? And anyway if it was absolutely compulsory wouldn't it only affect us and the mackems (if they stayed up)? Aye, we're the only ones who it'd effect. mackems would just move them back to behind the goal. A rule bought in with Sky's influence to MAKE VIEWING EVEN BETTER!!!

I don't want Dummett to be Messi with the ball at his feet, it's just not completely ridiculous to request that a professional footballer can control a ball and pass it to his team mate. It's not necessary for his position but he puts us under a lot of pressure with his inability to play football and consistently passes possession to the other team (usually through giving them a throw-in). He's been fairly good defensively for the majority of the season, but is still terrible when a ball is played over the top of him. He's excellent in the air though, which is unusual for a LB. Said it all season, he's good enough for this level but one I'd like to see replaced next season - although it's not our most urgent position that is needed strengthening.

The only thing that could top this result is if the lighting in the studio falls on Rio, Gerrard & Owen.
-
Aye, superb call.
-
Whilst I don't think he intentionally stamped on his head, I think he was aware a collision was going to take place and took no action to avoid it when he easily could have, so he's fully deserving of a ban. The five games is disputable though as Ibra clearly intended on causing Mings some damage, which I think is worse.

Same here. Absolute joke. These stadiums in the middle of nowhere where 90 percent come by car are a disgrace to society. 90 mile drive home for me but didn't get in until nearly 1am as it took so long to get away. Yep same here. Seemed like quite a few fans were late to the game as well due to being stuck in traffic. Joke! We parked on an industrial estate opposite the McDonalds/Pizza Hut, just parked up on the side of the road because there was no double yellows. We were one of the last out of the ground due to sitting at the back but we were on the M4 within about 25 minutes. I never use a carpark because you queue for hours to get out. Usually just google map the area around the stadium before the game and find a residential area/industrial estate to park on.
