Wonder what Moussa is up to today This couldn't be happening to a nicer bloke. HA! Wonder if he'll do an Odenwingie and just turn up at Real Madrid later.

£34m on another striker... Do they need one? They already have Musa, Vardy & Okazaki! His goalscoring record is good though, albeit in w*** leagues.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Think we'll only do business today if Sissoko leaves, judging by that tweet I think Sky agree with me. -
Looking at his Wiki page, doesn't look like anyone knows who he is http://www.letemps.com.tn/sites/www.letemps.com.tn/files/styles/620px_wide/public/main/articles/Ibrahima%20N%E2%80%99Dong_letemps.jpg He looks like Rolando Aarons and Louis Saha have merged into each other though.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Figures 1-0 Football replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
I think we've had an excellent summer. - Got rid of the dead wood and the drains to the wage bill (Cisse, Colo, Saylor) - Signed some good squad players to reflect the level we're playing at (Hanley, Clark, Murphy etc.) - Replaced the first team players that we've sold (Ritchie, Diame, Gayle) In some instances, I think the players we've signed have been better than the ones released which is outstanding considering we've been relegated. I think the team we've got now is stronger than the one that went down, especially due to the new squad depth that we have. The days of playing players out of position and having the likes of Jak Alnwick in goal because of injuries look long gone. -

This cunt not won the league for us yet? -
Benfica at home in the Europa and Leicester at home last year (Vardy's goal) spring to mind proving Moussa's lack of any defensive knowledge. It was one of Norwich's 2 goals in the 6-2 that I was thinking of, but both of your examples are true too

Sissoko good defensively? Who was it that scored against us because he just stood and watched their LB as he ran past him and linked up with the winger?
-
Will be interested to see how he does, win-win for us really as he'll be ineligible to play against us but could smash some goals in against our rivals. Pleased to see he's at a Championship club and likely to play regularly, step up from last year.

Will be interested to see what he says when he signs. Needs to start off on a good foot (no pun intended). -

Well we needed a winger, I hope he's just going to be a fringe player though (McManananananaman, obviously) -
How do you work that out? I agree with you re us not going up necessarily, but I don't see how you can say that about our signings. Scoring goals was a grotesque failing for us last season. I'd say Kodija and McCormack are players signed in precisely the right positions. Whether or not they will turn out to be the answer, I don't know, but they are being brought in to address a very clear weakness. Our biggest failing last year was the total inability to defend. Amavi - Chester - Elphick - De Laet is much better than last year (when Amavi gets totally fit) and three of those are new players (and the other missed almost the whole season through injury). Jedinak is a signing which also should plug a massive weakness, but we could do with one more midfield addition. Like I said, the actual players may or may not work out, but we're definitely addressing the areas of the pitch where we had big problems (errrm, all of them). I think McCormack was a good signing - McCormack, Ayew and Gestede are very good options at this level. I think that was sufficient though and if you wanted another striker then just a back-up player would be enough (for rotation etc.). I think wasting £11m-£15m on this guy from Bristol City is a gamble and unnecessary when up front is your strongest area and those funds could have been used in other areas. I think you are incredibly weak in goal, current keeper looks suspect to me. Defence I agree has improved, but outside of the four you listed your options are quite poor and you could have done with a couple of good back-up options. I think the midfield is the biggest problem for you, as you identified. A good creative midfielder and winger are desperately needed as I just cannot see where Villa's chances are going to be created from. There's no point stockpiling four great strikers if they have nothing behind them in midfield. I think you still need 2x defenders, 2x midfielders and a better keeper than you have before you'll look in good shape. You still seem to have a losing mentality, which is worrying. Second the opposition scores you just crumble, which is what we did last season too. Not sure how/where that can be improved but it needs to quickly otherwise this season may be worrying. I think Villa are okay if your owner gives Di Matteo time, if he doesn't get you up this season then stick with him and carry on the rebuild. I have a fear that he sounds as crazy as he tweets and you'll end up going through a few managers if there isn't instant reward. We're different in the sense that I think Rafa would go if he fails to get us back up this year, so it's desperate that we do go up.

Hernandez knocked back Villa after they agreed a fee with Hull. Villa never were interested in Assombalonga (I'm amazed nobody has gone in for him).

On the left? Square pegs in round holes again then. Gouffran's a square peg in every hole, though. Sissoko and Ritchie out wide alternating would be just fine. Richie's clearly far better on the right and is arguably our best player. I wouldn't take him away from there to make room for Sissoko. Sissoko would be useless on the left as well and would no doubt take the huff at being played out of position. Sissoko's our best player. In any attacking midfield role he'd p*ss all over this division. Yet was totally anonymous against sh*t like sunderland, Aston Villa, West Brom etc. Don't know why he'd suddenly turn into a world beater against Derby, Sheff Wed etc. If he was anonymous last season he would have been dropped. People are rewriting history here, he might have had the odd bad game, but he was never anonymous. His 1 goal and 2 assists were invaluable to us last season. Was he dropped by Rafa for his anonymous displays? Wijnaldum was, how come Sissoko got handed the armband and singled out for praise by Rafa for these anonymous performances? Wijnaldum was much more effective last season than Sissoko was and Wijnaldum disappeared for half of it. Depends on your definition of effective. 1 goal and 2 assists v 11 goals and 5 assists. There is no disputing that Gini was by far the more productive last season. Sissoko's level is bottom half Premier League, he will create chances with his bursting runs but 9/10 times he'll f*** up the chance with a terrible end ball or running straight into a defender. Wijnaldum has probably found his level with Liverpool. Rafa didn't drop Sissoko last season because he still had those bursting runs etc. whereas Wijnaldum just fell of the face of the Earth. We've watched Sissoko for years be incredibly inconsistent and never really display his full talents on a regular basis. No disputing that Sissoko could do a very good job for us this year, but he doesn't want to be here and we've already replaced him with Diame (who is playing in Sissoko's best position of AM). Get rid for the best fee possible and move on from it. Scoring goals and assists isn't the only measure of effectiveness, besides quite often you can put in a great cross only for the striker to fluff it. Having watched most games last season, I didn't see Sissoko putting in many more balls than Wijnaldum that were fluffed by the striker. I do recall Sissoko running down closed routes quite often though. And goals and assists were exactly what we needed last season, any other sort of effectiveness wasn't useful in our relegation battle.

I was only going off what was posted on here, so it possibly is. 1 goal v 11 goals though is undisputable.
