There was a whopping 8,488 at Leeds last night, which I found amusing as they are the most self-applauded supporters in the world

Were they both homeless? Bit odd if they weren't.

Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)

He also tried to do the same with Armstrong in the 2-2 game at home to Burnley. We were heading for a win in that game - then he brings Armstrong on and lumps long balls up to him, we lose the ball and they go down the other end and score. Class. -
If we won either cup, I'd fully expect us to get promoted from this league anyway.

Absolutely. Half of the time people don't even know what/who they are clapping for, they just do it anyway. Seeing posts on social media asking fans to clap in a certain minute due to a fan who has a serious illness or has passed away makes no sense to me, there are a lot of football fans who pass away every day - why aren't they acknowledged? The one thing the mackems do right, is to do it once a year on the last game in December to commemorate all fans who have passed away that calendar year.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle United - 24/09/2016 @ 17:30 - Live on Sky

Villa are irrelevant Would love to see them fail, but that is mainly down to the fact that it'd help us (as one less club to worry about) and the fact I want their owner to have a complete meltdown on Twitter. They still closed half of their ground this season? Big club. -
They'll play the "we sent out a reserve team" if they don't win Not sure how they'll play a reserve team tonight, as their starting 11 is pretty much a reserve team as they have no players.

We've played (and beaten) better teams than these this season. Would be disappointed with anything other than a win. -

Think that line-up means we may see Gayle and Mitro up top together on Saturday. -
Championship team wins the FA Cup, qualifies for the Europa League. Following season, wins the Europa League and qualifies for the Champions League. Doesn't get promoted either season and still a Championship club (or even more dramatically, is relegated to League One). Can they play in the Champions League as a Championship/League One club? Would be very bizarre (but good) if they could.
-
I just think people are thinking way too far ahead with Mitro. We are in the Championship this season, there is absolutely no way that anybody can convince me that he's not good enough for a title winning team at this level. Whether he is good enough to play for us if we go up, is a different story. But he's fucking miles ahead of any similar-style striker in this league. Should play up top with either Gayle or Perez next to him, they'd have a field day.
-
I think they are probably about the same level at the moment (similar age too, aren't they?). In theory they could learn the game well with Rafa and become a solid CB pairing for us for some years. Mbemba was crap on Saturday, as was Lascelles and every other player on the pitch. Both are better than this level and probably the best two CB's in the division.
-
To be fair, I'd imagine the reaction from Newcastle fans would be the same if the Chronicle took on a journalist solely to cover NUFC who had made similar comments on social media about us. Obviously some of their posts on RTG are cringeworthy, but I don't necessarily think they are out of order or losers for not being happy with it.
-
There were a couple of rumours in July, but the club came out and quashed them immediately. Which says a lot imo, as they didn't do that for any of the rumours for players that they genuinely were happy to move on. Would say that Rafa is happy with Mitro, or he'd have moved him on in the summer.

I have slight sympathy in the fact that he shouldn't be ever played on the wing. It's a bit like playing Darlow at CB and then moaning he's shit. He's going to look shit because that's not his position. The lack of application and workrate is his own fault though. -

He's very frustrating. Has such a good touch and can look outstanding sometimes, but other days he looks total dogshit and can be sneezed off of the ball. -
Thought the header was a superb save rather than a bad miss personally.

Gayle's contribution in his first two games by the way was a simple miss early v Huddersfield then a header from a crap pen. Gayle has been fairly poor other than his good finish at Bristol City. Contributed nothing in a lot of games yet Mitro misses one chance and he's awful Oh I'm sorry, I am to pretend last season never occurred. Got it. I'm affording Gayle the same amount of leeway we all did to Mitro, as a new signing. Difference is Mitro's been missing these chances for over a year. When did I tell you to pretend last season didnt happen? Stop making stuff up. Mitro played well against QPR, set up Shelvey's first and scored himself. His only other action this season is 25 minutes 2-0 down against Wolves where he missed one chance (but also held the ball up okay and got a flick on that put Perez through on goal). Gayle has played a lot of football this season and his contribution has been poor in a lot of those games.
