  1. Bet he's praying they're relegated this year so he can activate his relegation release clause.
  2. If we haven't sold anybody today, I don't think we will. I cant see any of our players leaving for an English team and as all the other windows close today then it is effectively the end of our window for selling.
  3. Love seeing a player written off after 16 minutes of a match because he didn't bring the ball down with every one launched at him. He was good at Man Utd in a difficult situation for him, the other three games are irrelevant as he played about a combined 30 minutes in all three.
  4. £10m is a lot of money, especially to a club who've got nowt. Not sure what us spunking £6m on Rivière has to to with them paying £10m for a bang average striker who was desperate to sign for anyone else but them either. The point is how much bang average strikers cost generally these days. Who has gone for less than Borini this summer who you could say is absolutely better? Hernandez about to leave for £9m. Jelavic going to West Spam for next to nowt. Antonio from Forest for £7m, Victor Moses available on a loan, Matt Phillips available on a free from QPR (all can play up top and do a better job than Borini, especially in a system with Defoe). Loads and loads of examples... Didn't Llorente leave Juve on a free? Even players like him, who Sunderland wouldn't be able to compete for - are available so cheap.
  5. He put a second tweet up about half an hour later saying NUFC have no interest.
  6. Can't say I've ever seen him to be fair.
  7. He's got a right personality hasn't he, I think he's brilliant.
  8. Sky colleagues in Germany tell us Lasogga to #nufc deal looks a strong possibility. Watch this space. #SSNHQ @SkySportsNewsHQ #DeadlineDay — Pete Graves (@PeteGravesSky) August 31, 2015
  9. It's concerning but how many points did we have under Pardew last season after the first 8 games? Can't have been much more than 5 and a quick run of wins had us into 5th man. No reason we couldn't win 6-8 games to the halfway point assuming we manage to turn the tide. I'm not expecting a thing at WHU btw, beat Watford, get reamed by Citeh and Chelsea. 8 games in we had 7 points and arguable a much easier start to the season of: Man City (h), Aston Villa (a), Crystal Palace (h), Southampton (a), Hull (h), Stoke (a), Swansea (a), Leicester (h). Leicester being the start of the run of wins. We have West Ham (a) and Watford (h) next two games - easily acceptable to class both of them as winnable. Chelsea (h) is nothing to fear, we play well against them for some reason and they are down on their knees atm. Man City away, will be difficult. After that, we have a run of 11 games where the hardest fixtures are Liverpool (h) and Tottenham (a) - but all easily winnable games. We've had probably one of the hardest starts to the season.
  10. This. Everyone was crying out for us to sort out the defence during the whole summer - we have finally done that. And now we're awful because we've not scored 20 goals in our opening four games. So would you play Colback and Anita easy question? Possibly not, but I can understand why he is playing both of them. There is never going to be a situation where every supporter agrees with the starting 11, no matter who he picks. Colback and Anita both played excellently on Saturday btw, as they did against Man Utd - had we had gone more attacking in both of those games, we'd probably have been stuffed 4-0 in both games. We were a toenail away from a victory at Man Utd and unlucky on Saturday to have the game ruined inside 16 minutes - neither of those were effected by Colback and Anita.
  11. To be fair, I did a yellow wee today in anticipation.
  12. Will be amazed if we sign anyone else. The rest of the window is about keeping onto what we've got, imo.
  13. Charlie Austin will sign for Bournemouth tomorrow - you heard it here first.
  14. Never heard of him if I'm honest - had to Wiki him, he's 19? Man Utd going with an unproven 19 year old from a shit French team... All of the signs of a panic buy.
  15. Junior Hoilett available on a free from QPR - an upgrade on Gouf/Obertan?
  16. He was injury prone on mine - they should stay away.
  17. Not even convinced he's better than Fletcher - at least he'll hold the ball up for Jermaine and his PA to tap it in.
  18. My favourite player by far at the moment. I honestly cant remember the last time we had a central defender at Newcastle that I've not shit myself/whimpered every time the ball goes towards him.
  19. I'd prefer to keep him but I can understand that if he's not first choice - he'll want to go and play football. To have someone as good as Cisse coming off the bench to score goals/fill in when Mitrovic has murdered the linesman is very good. But if we do sell him, there is no hope in hell we will pay for a replacement to sit on the bench - especially not £15m on a replacement.
  20. This. Everyone was crying out for us to sort out the defence during the whole summer - we have finally done that. And now we're awful because we've not scored 20 goals in our opening four games.
  21. IMO he has came to a new club, is desperate to make an impression and has put his foot in sometimes when it isn't needed. There has been no malicious intent in any of his fouls, he's just "trying too hard" to win possession/break away. Two or three games of scoring goals and all of this will go away - but you can guarantee any slight 50/50 or foul (like Saturday) will be picked up immediately and ran with the media. Sadly he is a marked man, similar to Costa at Chelsea. Teams will kick him and try to wind him up, as they do with Costa quite frequently.
  22. Big difference between 13-15 though. Wouldn't bat an eyelid if it were 16 and 15. 16 and 13 is a Year 11 and a Year 8. But why? 15 is just as illegal as 13. You cannot say 15 is fine, but 13 is not - it is either legal or not. Some countries, the legal age is 13... Looking around England these days, you'd probably be surprised at how many 13 year olds are sexually active imo.
