  1. http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/threads/premier-league-newcastle-v-arsenal-29-08-15-12-45pm-bt-sport.28426/page-22 Very split decision by ARSENAL fans on whether it was a red card. If Arsenal fans think it was harsh, it probably was harsh.
  2. Four years of Pardew is not going to be fixed after four games.
  3. Would Howard Webb have sent Wayne Rooney off for that incident at Old Trafford? Never. In. A. Million. Years.
  4. It's a f***ing outrage if you ask me. Kids watch this programme and there's someone there basically saying such cuntish and disrespectful behaviour towards officials is the right thing to do. I know we're all moaning about Marriner today but in general the lack of respect towards officials in football (particularly at the top level) is a massive problem with the game. Including trying to con and influence them at every opportunity, instead of just accepting the decision. Rooney's behavior a week ago was a disgrace, no idea how the refs just let it go without a word being said. They don't, Gini was booked for it. The two words that he said to the ref... worthy of a yellow. Not like Arsenal though, that's different. Wasn't a clear post but meant that Rooney never gets punished when he does that. Such a great role model for the kids as the face of the English football. Without a doubt, some players consistently get away with murder whilst others don't. If Costa had committed the same foul as Mitro - it'd have been a red. If Gerrard had committed the same foul as Mitro - it'd have been a dive by Coquelin. Same goes for getting in the refs face/lack of respect. Gerrard could punch a ref, whereas players like Costa would be taken to the back of the shed and shot.
  5. No, but it doesn't mean it wasn't dangerous. I don't get why there's such an argument about it. Vast majority of pundits and NUFC fans can see why he gave a red. It's not like it's an outrageous decision. I personally think it is a red. Can see why people think it's soft, but to hear people say "never a red" is ludicrous when basically 95% of all coverage of it has agreed that it was probably the right decision. A... Do you think it would have been a red had Giroud done it ? B....Do you think there was intent ? b) No, but it's already been established that they don't take that into account. But he was sent off for the intent? The reason it was a red, was because he intended to do it. The referee believed he intended to hurt Coquelin. He would not have been sent off, if the referee thought it was an accident as he is not seriously hurting a player - as he has stood on somebody's foot. So your whole argument is wrong, if you believe there was no intent?

  7. So Affelay gets a red for pushing someone in the face... Huth kicks a ball in a players face, then pushes another player in the face and gets a yellow.

Martin Keown - ex-Arsenal player said it was a red. The same bloke who thought Coquelin was going to die under Thauvin's "challenge".
  9. I cannot believe I've just seen an ex-pro actively encouraging players to surround referees and ask for cards to be given. Astonishing.
  10. So a summary on MOTD... Martin Keown asks players to surround the referee asking for yellow cards Thauvin "reduced" Coquelin by slightly tapping his foot, resulting in Coquelin jumping 5 foot in the air and rolling around six times No footage of Sanchez repeatedly asking the ref for yellow cards Footage of one yellow card (Sissoko) and one red card (Mitro) which were nearly identical Apparently two fouls causes referees to become "fed up" and book the entire team Arsenal are too soft and should not allow teams to kick them around the field Wow. Absolute wow.
  11. Coquelin jumping in the air in that Thauvin challenge. Fuck off. Keown on the panel... Unreal.
  12. Sunderland's away kit is vile.
  13. So many empty seats at Villa Park again...
  14. Are they allowed to ref Mackem games? Seems strange imo if they are, yet they cant ref us.
  15. Noble's was a clear red. It was a stamp, studs on the Liverpool player's shin, could have ended his career and broke his leg. Horrible tackle, Noble has been building up for that too - he got a yellow card 2 weeks ago.
  16. Got absolutely no doubt that we'll lose a few first-teamers for the derby because they'll pick up their 5th yellow in the game prior. It's written. Imagine Mitrovic in the derby... Oh dear oh dear haha.
  17. I'm not sure if he'd have picked up a second yellow if I'm honest - he controlled himself really well at Man Utd, so he clearly has the ability to do so. All of our players, once they'd picked up a ridiculous yellow were very well disciplined not to give the ref the chance to give a second - because he would have.
  18. The fact that immediately after the foul, not a single player reacted to it like a red-card challenge says it all. Arsenal players flapped their arms around (as they did with every foul) and that was it. There was genuine shock amongst the players/fans/staff when he pulled a red out.
  19. First time ever a player has tried to stamp on the ball... He went for the ball fgs
  20. Who is on MOTD tonight? Dread to think what they'll come up with...
  21. Would like to see that challenge done on yourself, you'd be changing your mind instantly. Not a chance, the shinpad is there for a reason - for accidental collisions like this. The force was felt on his foot, if anywhere - and even still, the foot wasn't left in and was more like a lass standing on your foot on a night out in heels. Coquelin went down like an embarrassing sack of shit, like he did all game.
  22. Arsenal fans I met in the pub after said it was never a red, after watching it again on replay.
  23. He barely made contact with his shin, come away man. If Coquelin had stood up and walked off (which he easily could have, as evidenced when he ran back on the pitch seconds later) - it would have been a yellow, at most. The reaction bought the red card without a shadow of a doubt.
