  1. And the Daily Mail are also known to be reliable sources...
  2. On that Villa thread, I love this comment... "No chance. We'd be absolute giants with half their success." Well errr... is that not the point? You are a smaller club because you've not had success? That is like saying, I'd be well intelligent with 4 A* A-Levels.
  3. Does your free season ticket work? It's been like this for ages, increasingly so all the time. Whenever we play one of the better sides, home or away, the crowd goes home absolutely buzzing if we do anything other than get absolutely obliterated. It used to be just the top couple of sides in the division. Now if we play Swansea City and don't get f***ed up the arse, it's treated as a moral victory. Meanwhile West Ham have already won away at Liverpool and Arsenal. As a support, we write these games off and are delighted to do so. One of the many reasons I can't be f***ed with it any more. I personally thought the reception was strange, it seemed as a "United front" aka you can give us 6,000 cards but we'll still stick together sort of reception imo. Regards West Ham - they did get hammered by Arsenal in the game that they won, Arsenal just couldn't score, they also had 11 men. I'd fancy our chances against Liverpool, I don't rate them at all - a bang average side. A lot of our younger support are in with what you said, as to be fair all they are used to is see us on our knees/getting thumped. As I've said before, four years of Pardew is not going to be fixed in four games (both on/off the pitch) - will be very interested to see how we are doing after 10 games.
  4. I hope that this is sarcastic.
  5. Of course it wasn't a red or yellow, it's Man Utd! And not Mitrovic, the awful horrible man! EDIT - surely if Mitrovic's appeal is turned down, then Shaw should receive a 3-game ban for making the same sort of challenge?
  6. To be fair, if you had a pop at every 16 year old that has slept with a 13-15 year old then you would have an awful lot of angry letters to write.
  7. Hernandez is in advanced talks with Bayer Leverkusen apparently... Why would they let Hernandez go without a replacement - as they already have no options up front. If it's not Austin, they must have someone lined up surely.
  8. If he is sold there is no way he will be replaced imo. Mitrovic, Perez, De Jong, Riviere, Thauvin (according to yesterday), Gouffran, Toney as all seen as options up front.
  9. Gone from 33/1 to 5/2 on SkyBet to join Man Utd in the space of two hours before that tweet went up.
  10. Was a great move. I think last season was just an unusual blip (probably not helped by Klopp announcing he was leaving so early).
  11. 2014/2015 - 20 games - 86 yellows - 1 red 2013/2014 - 26 games - 78 yellows - 6 reds 2012/2013 - 24 games - 74 yellows - 5 reds 205 matches over his career: 679 yellow cards 43 red cards About the same as others really, in some cases lower than a lot of others. Whether all of the cards were justified/correct is another matter.
  12. Aleksandar Mitrovic became the second United player to be shown a red card this season following Daryl Janmaat at Swansea City and the sixth in our last 13 Premier League games (following on from Fabricio Coloccini at Everton, Moussa Sissoko at Liverpool, Mike Williamson and Janmaat at Leicester City). Take from .com That is shocking really, even if it is spread across two seasons.
  13. goes both ways tbh, there's only one poster who has come out with something totally outrageous that i can see so where the rest of your post comes from is a mystery, other people think it's fair to point out that he's made mistakes in his selections and tactics so far, which he f***ing has overall i'm personally not unhappy but instead of getting more quality at the back and forming a solid defensive unit we've 'opted' to get the whole team to protect the defence that's still as shaky as f*** when exposed imo and that's coming at the expense of our own attacking intent you'd have to be overly harsh not to accept that we're going through a process mind and that mclaren is clearly trying to instill some professionalism all over the place and we'll be the better for it in the long run, he's being cautious and i can accept that but he can't do it forever he's actually going to have to get some points on the board, which i'm sure he will I was referring to both Elcid and TCD who have made comments on the fact that SMC is shit because we're not playing attacking football (amongst other things). Of course he is going to make mistakes early on, he's been manager for four games for crying out loud - he's got new players he's trying to fit in around the existing team. If we had lost every game and been battered in each one, I'd understand peoples comments - but so far we've looked more organised (especially defensively) then we have for years.
  14. The one Cisse scored away at Old Trafford last year? 3-1 defeat?
  15. And when they went down to 10 men against West Brom, they conceded and didn't score. So technically they lost 1-0. And they didn't attack with 10 men. Awful.
  16. Four games in and Chelsea look awful - they should sack Mourinho for playing Matic because he's too defensive.
  17. Cannot believe what I am reading, some people really do like to live up to the deluded Geordie stereotype. Four games in and unless we've scored 50 goals and have 12 points, everything is terrible.
  18. Having watched the Mitrovic incident again this morning, after calming down - I've just confirmed what an awful decision it was.
  19. I think you'll find that's what we call, an equaliser. Or a destroyer. Or summit. A reducer. A new tackle named by Martin "I never fouled anyone" Keown.
  20. I don't necessarily think anyone can judge us this much from our opening four games (five, if including Northampton). Against Southampton, we played attacking football and went for it - we ran out of steam after a woeful pre-season and ended up drawing the game. Against Swansea, we played a majority of the game with 10 men against a team who are known for holding the ball and are very good at home. Against Man Utd, we had an excellent game plan which we executed very well and could have snatched a win at points. Against Arsenal, we were reduced to 10 men very early on which resulted in us trying to play the same against Man Utd. We've had a very hard start imo, should we have kept 11 men on the field then we would have picked up a lot more than 2 points. Had we had a better pre-season (not SMC's fault) then we probably would have beaten Southampton. There is no point judging him until 10 games in, when the league starts to take shape. After Chelsea/Man City we have a run of games where you could argue, all of them are easily winnable until the end of the year. All I have drawn from the start of the season is the fact that we are much, much more organised and appear to be playing a much more passing style of football. We've bought in some excellent attack minded players. If we went "all out attack" in the four games we've played so far, especially after going down to 10 men in two of the games - we wouldn't be sat here with 2 points, we'd have much less and probably got thumped 4-0+ in two of the games.
  21. Can't wait for him to turn up to his next game with a bouquet of flowers for the referee and a chocolate for all of the opposition players to show what a nice guy he is.
  22. It made me laugh, in the Chelsea game on MOTD they shown Delaney v Costa, in which they just clattered into each other without fouls being given. Mbemba/Anita and others got booked for much less than those challenges in our game. The inconsistencies between referees is shocking.
  23. Slow motion always seems worse. In real time you can see that it's just a misjudged 50-50 but slow motion makes it look so much worse. It's why I hate when people use slow motion replays to justify these kind of things, it always looks intentional in slow mo. ^ That comment hit the nail on the head with this challenge. It was nowt more than a mistimed 50/50 with no intent. To be fair, with Coquelin jumping through the air throughout the 90 minutes, he was never going to be at risk of serious injury.
  24. Harsh, possibly. Stupid rule, probably. Understandle why he gave it, absolutely. As has been said on here it was one the softer side of red, but worse than your average yellow. So far you've said you think there is no intent, it was possibly harsh, a soft red... But it's definitely a red because we're all idiots and two ex-refs and ex-Arsenal players & Robbie Savage said it was.
