Any idea why Uruguay are 9/5 against Bolivia tonight? Seem like great odds.

That is my favourite moment of football that isn't NUFC related. For it to have been Gerrard as well, was just priceless.

Mike Ashley has taken us from a regular in Europe to below these. Oh definitely we're ran like shite, but these are too. Under the current regimes, but clubs will continue like this and it'll be a case of "we're less shit then you" rather than who is actually better.
-
The way they are run, they'll get caught out eventually - the entire team and staff on short term deals to constantly try to survive. They'll never do anything other than fight relegation, or be relegated. Their manager is irrelevant, they still have a piss poor team.
-
Oh definitely, I can imagine Allen and Lallana were both Rodgers' signings. However, both of them have arguably contributed much more than the likes of Mario, Markovic, Aspas, Ilori etc. who were more than likely not his signings. Liverpool are a feeder club for big clubs, they'll sign a player and he'll perform well and then move onto a big team (Torres, Sterling, Suarez). They'll then use the money of the big sale to fund new players to try and turn into a saleable asset. Until they stop this cycle, they'll never compete. Other than Countinho, I don't think they have any decent players anymore - which will be a big problem moving forward.

The amount of times I've cringed at... "Now we've got Klopp we'll sign... [insert world class player here]".

Really? Haha, Greece are gash - they've not won a game yet have they? As N.Ire only need two points, I can see them really going to try and win it and settle it, resulting in quite an open game. 2-1, 2-2, 3-2 or 3-1 imo.

Will be interesting to see how this one pans out. I do love how Rodgers is blamed for all the signings, even though its been reported numerous times that he doesn't deal with transfers.
-
£55 on Northern Ireland over 1.5 goals tonight (v Greece) - 11/4 with WilllHill. Think that is a bizarre price, I fancy N.Ire to seal it tonight, to just score 2 goals nearly 3/1?! I've also got that in a £10 double with Serbia -1 (5/1).

Would have been happier with the early kick off slots, rather than late. Glad we've got nowt on a Monday though.

Could see him ending up at Juve, personally. How come? Nothing other than pure personal thoughts. A lot of the top jobs (Bayern etc) have managers who will probably stick around for a while. Juve would also be a challenge to win the UCL, as the Italian league is really poor atm compared to others imo - would be a personal challenge for him which he likes. He also enjoyed his time at Inter, didn't he? Cannot see him doing international management, he'd argue too much with club managers and the stop-start of it wouldn't suit him imo. I wonder if he'd go back to inter. They're top atm. But they haven't been great recently. If money wasn't such a factor in the game, more managers would probably try to turn clubs around or try to achieve something with smaller clubs. Instead of doing that to jump on the gravy train and never taking on anything like it again. I'm one of the very few who really likes Mourinho, he is a very sore loser at times - but we all are. Wouldn't be surprised if he went back to Inter, I definitely think that he'll go back to Italy.

Massively overrated manager. Jumped on a steady ship at Swansea that was already built by the previous managers, jumped to Liverpool who always flitter around the same area in the league. One good year where the entire team were in form and they had one world class player doesn't make him a good manager. (Pardew - 5th comes to mind).
-
Who would have thought having a manager on a one-year contract would not work. Senseless decision to appoint him in the first place after the end of the last season, should have just let him leave as a 'hero' for keeping them up. Would Allardyce go there? Not convinced he would myself. Can see them getting another foreign past it manager myself, on another short deal till the end of the season. One last payday.

How can they not be keen on a man who is evidently miles better than them? That'd be like us rejecting someone like Remi Garde...

I didn't even notice when I was watching the game yesterday that the goal was actually onside - the coverage of it was extremely minimal. It was not even mentioned at half time either, I only realised when I caught a glance of it on MOTD in the pub last night. 2-0 would have been very different, not saying we would have won or anything but the game would have been entirely different. Man City had a similar issue away at Spurs, the equaliser was miles offside and was not given - Spurs go on to win 4-1. Freakily similar game to ours as well actually.
-
Liverpool have an average squad, they in no way have a team to compete for anything other than 5th (at their very best) - 10th. They are not a top club any more and they need to accept that.

Confirmed Dick has gone.

To be honest, we were set up well and playing excellently in the first half. SMC had it spot on. We could have and probably should have been 2-0 up, maybe even 3-0 before they scored. Second half we endured a terrible half, but not helped by the fact that Aguero was absolutely unplayable. They were due a turn around like this and they had the quality to do it. Sadly, we collapsed like a pack of cards and were an absolute shambles. In no way can SMC be blamed for that IMO, he was let down by his players. Although, he needs to ensure that this does not happen again - it happened frequently last season under Carver and happened a lot under Pardew. Had this had happened against the likes of Norwich or Leicester, I'd be a lot more worried. We were outclassed in the second half by a far superior team. The first half/Chelsea game gives me confidence going into our next run of games, all easily winnable in the next 10 or so. The new formation looks good, the way the front players linked looks good - we should comfortably improve from here. The main issue with the players is confidence, the second we concede we look vulnerable, this needs improving. Gouffran was absolutely gash though, with Tiote coming back thankfully we probably won't see him again, just a shame Tiote was not fit enough to start.

Sturridge would make an excellent LB too.

Will play exactly like we played against Man Utd, imo. -
Great ball from Cabaye.

To be fair, playing Gouffran in a game that we're gonna get humped is probably a good thing as he'll be hung out to dry. Thauvin would be embarrassed today, he's not settled and has been poor. De Jong hasn't exactly set the world alight either in his mini-performances. Tiote has not really trained and wont be fit enough to cope with City's midfield.
