  1. Saivet being sold to ‘clear the way for incoming business’ fuck off. The way has been clear since the summer. Bunch of twats.
  2. If they sell him from under Rafa’s nose, absolutely.
  3. Last minute !! At this moment Mikel Merino despite the statements of Rafa Benítez is closer to @AthleticClub. Very good news!!! Presentador y comunicador BilboSport TeleBilbao . Las mañanas en Radio Nervion 88.0 FM .
  4. Is he worth a thread anyway? It’s that fucking depressing that I think he probably is.
  5. If the takeover isn't dead, I really want to stay up. Otherwise I don't care. But I don't see any benefit from relegation. There is no benefit from relegation - it’s been proven twice. We go down - Ashley ‘lends’ the club more money, increasing our debt to him. When we come back up, he increases his asking price due to the rising money in football and to recoup the higher ‘loan’. Rinse and repeat. Our only hope of a positive future is a less than amazing TV deal being announced (to reduce Ashley’s interest/not cause him to ask for £500000m) and to stay up with Rafa at the helm - if we do, a deal might be done. If we go down, we’ll be nowhere near a deal.
  6. Man City have bid for him, apparently. Let’s gazump them! We’re negotiating and have gone in with an early bid of two orange clubs and a twix.

  8. I’m at the stage where even a fake leak by the club would be interesting.
  9. Confidence that we can do something and confidence that we will do something are entirely different. Unsurprisingly he has opted to say ‘can’.
  10. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-frantically-trying-salvage-something-14220648 Decent article that.
  11. We’re at the stage now where clubs are unwilling to do business because they wont be able to get a replacement in. The only way we’d get a signing in is if we offered a ridiculous sum, sometthing that we’d never do. That just leaves a loan of a player who is either not fancies at all by his current club or a youth player from a big club. Once again scratching around at the bottom of the bin.
  12. That's because you're a fan, not a footballer. They don't care at all about the same things we do which is why it's refreshing when they actually seem to. ie: That's one of the main reasons we all have a boner over Rafa, because he seems to give a fuck about the same things we do. Replace Newcastle with any other half decent team and the point still stands like. West Brom are just a total nothing club. At least we have reasonable support and a decent stadium. Again, you missed the point. Footballers literally could give a fuck about those things you just mentioned. As long as their bank account stays fat and they stay employed in the top flight they're generally going to be just fine with wherever they play. There are very small margins of things beyond that actually mattering. So he’s rather play under Pardew and not guarantee a starting spot as opposed to play under a world class manager with a guaranteed starting spot? See Townsend, Andros. Obviously doesn’t fancy going to the World Cup then. Granted some players think how you do, but there are a lot of footballing reasons for Sturridge to have joined us. Financially there are none as he would have been paid the same at either club as it’s a loan.

  14. As I’ve said before - he could buy his own helicopter, live in Birmingham and fly to Newcastle every day in less than an hour. He had no trouble living in London, Manchester, Bolton or Liverpool. It’s a load of shit. As I posted on the previous page, it’s more likely that we were unwilling to pay his wages. Yes, because buying a helicopter a flying from Newcastle, all for a 14 game spell would be the reasonable thing to do as opposed to just moving home. Absolute crazy talk. I’d happily buy a pet elephant and ride it to Newcastle if it meant I didn’t have to play for such a minging club like West Brom. Commuting to Newcastle is ‘crazy talk’ but you ignore the fact he’s spent his entire career away from Birmingham but suddenly needs to spend 4 months there. Must be a real tough life for young Daniel being seperated so far away from his family in a world where transport just doesn’t exist.

  16. They’ll do nothing other than find out what colour the bogs will be painted in the summer. Worthless exercise that just acts as a fake line of communication.
  17. Mitigating his losses. Why waste £20m on a striker? Gamble to stay up because he knows we have a manager capable. Stay up = sell the club at a high price with the new TV deal announced £££ Go down = come back up like we always do, add a few quid to the ‘loan’ and request a higher sum when selling us as a PL club again.
