Am I the only one that thinks PCP are taking the piss a bit with the relegation clause? They’d have a full transfer window and half a season to avoid relegation, when we’re currently 11th. I could understand it if this deal was being completed in February or March, but it seems a bit cheeky imo. I know we’re in this situation due to MA’s own failings, but we’re doing okay at present and PCP should be able to do enough in their time to ensure that relegation isn’t a probability. They’ll probably drop the clause and were just trying their luck but I can understand why MA is unimpressed with it.

The most positive news is that nearly every journalist and article seems to agree on one point, that there is confidence that the deal will get done. Even the most pessimistic of journalists following NUFC (Luke Edwards, for example) seems to be confident that it’ll progress.

I prefer players who can play football. Dummett is average at playing slide tackling (usually as a necessity after fucking up higher up the pitch). It's a myth that he is a good defender. Only enhanced because of his shit ball control. I'd say he is comfortably the worst player with the ball at his feet in the entire PL. Manquillo is shit, but not to the level of Dummett. Agree with the ones who would rather see Mbemba play. Dummett currently experiencing the weird scenario where some people think a certain player suddenly becomes better than they are because they have been out injured for some time and/or their replacement is crap.

Given her last attempt @ Liverpool, this may not be the case. It may be genuine. Liverpool had no intention to strike a deal though, Ashley actively wants one.

Either side could have leaked the bid and both sides would have their own motiviation for it. It’s just categorically wrong to think it’s all a setup though. Staveley and co are massive players and certainly wouldnt answer to Ashley.

Ambition and motivation. Ashley’s motivation is money, whereas a Middle Eastern or Chinese company would probably dwarf his wealth with theirs and wont be buying Newcastle United to try and make a few quid. Of course they’ll promote their own companies, but that wont be their only purpose. As has been mentioned before, Middle Eastern’s love a dick measure competition and Saudi’s having a more successful football team than the Qatari’s for example, would be a massive victory for them.

Impossible to no either way until we hear more about who the other investors are and what Staveley’s intentions are. However, I’m more than happy to take the risk when the alternative is Ashley. A bit like jumping off a cliff to eacape a tiger, I could land into the lush Caribbean sea or I could land onto rocks.
