11 starts last season. 4 goals, 6 assists. Selfish cunt. In a much inferior league. Scored 1 goal in 7 months, but he's a fantastic striker because he's a mad bastard. Wasn’t he also injured and barely playing for those 7 months? Not like Neesy to talk shit mind. Neither of our other strikers look like scoring, he’s got a much better record than them this season despite barely getting on the field. No idea how anyone can even try and dispute that he should be on the pitch. A few games ago aye, but if Gayle is fit then why should Mitrovic be starting ahead of him? Probably because Gayle hasn’t scored a goal all season. It’s also very questionable if he is fit and will remain fit. Fwiw I’d have Gayle and Mitro playing together, so neither would start ahead of each other so to speak.

And counting... Edit - just looked and he has 3 red cards in his entire career ffs A ‘walking red card’ according to some. Not seen red since May 2016. 4 in his time with us (I'm counting the suspension this season obviously). Which is a red card every 15 matches or so. 3 if you're counting the suspension. Two reds in the first season, and 0 in the second season. You're right. The site I used to look up the suspensions listed one of his suspensions twice. Still, he's had a lot more than 3 in his career and is still averaging a red card every 20 matches or so. That'd work out nearly 2 a season, which is clearly bad. Sure I heard in commentary that Lejeune has 8 career reds. It was 9 in 200 games I think. That’s one ‘every 20 matches or so’. Sell him to the slaughter house! Also not sure what HA is talking about, but he’s had 3 career reds. No more than that.

.com are fairly complementary about the saves he made today, fwiw. They are also usually one of his harshest critics.

The only player to clap the fans at the end. Not sure how today’s loss was his fault, but I’m sure it will be somehow. He’s very average but he’s the best GK we have - it’s not like Joselu where we have a much better option on the bench. What do people want? Elliot to be dropped so we can watch Darlow drop the ball, pass it to the opposition striker, miskick it and let shots go through him? His kicking is crap, we know. He’s not the most agile, we know. He’s not the quickest to distribute it, we know. But he made a zero contribution to our defeat today and no idea why he consistently receives more stick than others who have put it totally pathetic performances that have contributed significantly to our defeat.

Matt Ritchie (now playing for Portsmouth)

If you are happy with wingers who are good defenders who regularly go weeks without doing anything and then blaming Atsu when he has to do everything like everyone else seems to then sure. But i personally i don't like rewarding mediocrity. Doesn’t Ritchie have the most assists in our team? -
Matt Ritchie (now playing for Portsmouth)

There’s probably 7 or 8 players in our squad that need replacing before Ritchie. A real leader on the pitch too, him organising the defence in the first half when Lascelles was down -
Shot of confidence and that is never a good thing for a winger playing in front of our crowd.

Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)

I don’t think he’s regressed, I just think his initial time with us was a purple patch and really he’s just a terrible footballer. -
It sounds weird but bringing him on would have lifted the crowd more than anything - the crowd respond well to Mitro and it needed something like him coming on around 80 minutes because the groans were audible and consistent. Don’t give a shit if he ‘might get sent off’ (even though his disciplinary record is no worse than Shelvey’s, for example) - this bloke needs to be playing.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Frank in at Tottenham
Figures 1-0 Football replied to cp40's topic in Football
Great news - that’ll be one team finishing below us this season. -
Absolutely fucking terrible after a really positive first 35 minutes. Perez fucking infuriates me at the minute, a complete wimp of a footballer. He shirked out of a shot when in a great position at 0-0 because he thought he might get clattered, fuck off with that. No idea what Rafa was thinking bringing Murphy on, the lad clearly has no confidence and consistently bringing him on in games where we are chasing/needing a goal isn’t going to do anything for him. Thought Lejeune was excellent today; Ritchie, Gayle, Atsu and Shelvey okay and everyone else dogshit. Manquillo absolutely terrible, it’s worrying that Dummett is going to play frequently for us again when he’s back - desperately need Gamez or Mbemba playing LB. Their goal was coming and the manner that they scored was totally fucking ridiculous. That fucking free kick we had just before they broke and got the corner - what a fucking shambles. We’ll survive and finish top section of the bottom half but fucking hell we need this takeover.

There's been 3 people lifted off there for noncing in the last few years. One of the arrests was recorded by that Dark Justice group. I won't post his username in case it gets me into bother. Well the one I know of, his username is is real name and his avatar is his real photo, so he's not the brightest of chaps. Was a nonce on here a while back, wasn't there? Really? Was it that kid who looks like a Nintendo avatar? Figures. It wasn't Figures - he's just gay. Wanker

Another great save from England’s #1 £30m Jesus wept.
-
I know they’ve rested some players, but the team they have out on the field at the minute is fucking appalling considering the money spent. Would love them to go down.

This is not the Everton way!!!!

Does Pickford always palm the ball out into danger like? Every shot that he saves he usually pats back out into a dangerous area.
-
The fact that players are constantly picked based on the club they player for, rather than their current form or ability is the reason that England are consistently crap. What has Lingard done this season, for example? A bit part player for Man Utd with one PL start under his belt. Promoting the U21 manager just gives an additional issue of him trying to shoehorn in his favourite U21 players despite them doing fuck all at club level to earn a callup.

It was Huth rather than Morgan, but like I say they had it well within their reach in March before they lost to West Ham like. Imo anyway. Top 4 is currently within our reach, but we’re not going to get it because we’ll not keep up the pace as them. This is how it was with Tottenham. I know what you mean, but Tottenham looked capable of dropping points and Leicester didn’t - which is the point that others are making. Leicester were comfortable in their games and performances whereas it was a struggle for Spurs to keep up.
-
Spurs blew it when the battered Leicester in January(?) but then lost it due to a Morgan header towards the end. From that point onwards Leicester steamrolled with the momentum and Spurs never even looked like catching them.
