  1. Good shout on your final line, the thread wasn't about judging people on their thought process. Just wondered if I was alone in being conflicted by this. Playing devil's advocate here but I wonder what the 'I don't care' brigade thought about the Mackems playing Adam Johnson knowing what he'd done? It's football, anything goes right?
  2. Where did I try and force my views? ? I clearly said that I personally felt uncomfortable but NUFC fans SHOULD NOT feel guilty about this. You were the one telling people what to think you cretin. Maybe read what's been said first before commenting eh?
  3. Honestly man, if you cannot have an adult conversation about a genuine issue with out telling people to FO, why bother?
  4. I'm not saying you should feel guilty, it's completely out of our hands and the football morality ship having since sailed. It is possible to feel incredibly excited about what's about to come but also concerned about who and why they own us. You can feel both.
  5. There's a good starting point. https://www.amnesty.org.uk/saudi-arabia-human-rights-raif-badawi-king-salman Would be interested to see whether the not the Trust would be open to pushing PIF on some of these issues, and we could actually be a force for good.
  6. Definitely feel like we need to have a thread about this, as I'm currently feeling very conflicted about the takeover. Is it just me?
  7. Off to the Punchbowl shortly with a few mates.
  8. Get to fuck you horrible bastard, may karma come back and bite you on your fat arse some day for the way you treat this club.
  9. My son was born 3 months after Ashley bought the club and the drudgery under Ashley is all he's ever known. I had a ST with him for the Rafa promotion and the first season back but walked away when he didn't back him in the second. I explained the situation to my my son who was gutted but even at 12 years of age, he said he understood. I promised him we'd be back in the ground the day Ashley left the club, and managed to get us some Spurs tickets last night. Can't wait, even if we do get battered. I still have issues with the Saudis as owners and not sure I'll be back myself.....but delighted for my son and his generation to hopefully witness (and more) the excitement of the Keegan years. Hats off to all who protested against Ashley, including the many good folk I met off here through that. You know who you are. Great post BTW LFEE.
  10. The gormless melts that did that deserve Bruce and Ashley.
  11. An unkempt shambling charlatan, the Boris Johnson of football.
  12. He may well prove to be but you can't make that statement after one game.
  13. As much as I hate Edwards & Bruce, he's got a point mind. Bruce, the PL & the failed takeover are just a massive distraction from the real cause of this club's slow and painful death, one Michael James Wallace Ashley. Time to forget the sideshows, get behind a genuine cause, and run this cunt out of town once and for all.
  14. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that NUFC did in fact try to get the case adjourned because they fancied their chances in the CAT case more, or indeed wanted to get certain info in the public domain ahead of it. My take is that the Saudis would have walked if that news had come out of the blue yesterday. Also, knowing what a big man-baby Ashley is, why haven't we seen a toys out of the pram statement from him that usually follows him not getting his own way? There's more to this than meets the eye in my opinion.
  15. Or when you compare what either manager inherited.
  16. He literally said the place was full of arseholes, not sure what he expected? As for the players he let go, none of them have proven themselves as PL players as yet, so it's a bit early to talk about mistakes being made. Also, to claim Rafa spent 'big money' is pretty fucking ridiculous as we were buying well below PL average prices at all times.
  17. Looks like that percentage has gone up a bit. Big money signings ??
  18. It's much more prevalent at England games in my opinion. SJP used to be horrific back in the 70's/80's but can honestly say, witnessed very little of that sort of nonsesnse as an ST holder in the Milburn for 25 years. Not to say it didn't happen full stop.
  19. Exactly. I've been to quite a few England games and at every single one, I've hated the xenophobic jingosism and outright racism I've witnessed from a sizeable minority of fans. It's fucking toxic and one of the reasons I can never get behind the national team 100% in all honesty, although Southgate and the players have made me feel a sense of pride which I haven't felt for a long time. You still get nazi salutes, xenophobic and racist chanting, booing the knee and this general arrogance that we're better than other countries. I don't know why people are in anyway shocked or surprised that this manifests itself on social media. We will never rid ourselves of this problem if we can't admit there is one.
  20. Okay, so that's one you can possibly discount. Loads of others including videos. If you want to believe this is some sort of stitch up job on innocent England fans, you crack on fella.
  21. Look up racist on Twitter, plenty of stuff there when you wade through. Videos, tweets, Snapchat stuff...fill your boots. I think Mr Andrew Bone and Henry Williams to name but two will be probably be out of a job because of it. Which is great news.
  22. You think English fans abusing their own black players hasn't been an issue for the last 40 years? Dear me.
