  1. This is a decent post on the matter, kind of sums up where I am; https://true-faith.co.uk/takeover-a-different-point-of-view-on-the-new-newcastle-united/
  2. You started off accusing people of having predispositions, telling them to fuck off if they didn't like it, accused me of lecturing to people when I asked a question and now are accusing people of showing faux indignation. Tells me everything I need to know in all honesty.
  3. You don't know the first thing about people posting on this thread, so you can wind your neck in with the faux indignation bollocks. If the thread is too much for you, leave it alone.
  4. I don't think it is a binary situation as this thread has proved, there are others who are uncomfortable being owned by Saudis but excited about what our future holds. The flag thing was a purely hypothetical question, so not sure why it was stupid. I'm fully aware I can walk away just as I did under Ashley, but I'm aware that if I come back because we start spending a load of cash, it's going to make the moral argument for staying away under Ashley seem more than a bit hypocritical. I'm really undecided what to do in all honesty, hence the thread.
  5. It was a hypothetical question as well you know. Just wanted to see what your line in the sand is? P.s. We had a French day in the past, it's not beyond the realms of possibility to suggest a KSA day could happen.
  6. Where is yours? What if the club start putting out Saudi flags for fans to wave? (as an example) It's almost certain we'll be paraded in friendlies over there. You happy with that? Or what happens if they start pushing for overseas league games in Riyadh? I just don't see this as a binary in or out choice personally.
  7. You seem to be suggesting that we shouldn't talk about this? Or you get behind this or stop going?
  8. And we should never discuss our owners other than who they are buying for us? That's never happened here in all my time supporting the club.
  9. Good shout on your final line, the thread wasn't about judging people on their thought process. Just wondered if I was alone in being conflicted by this. Playing devil's advocate here but I wonder what the 'I don't care' brigade thought about the Mackems playing Adam Johnson knowing what he'd done? It's football, anything goes right?
  10. Where did I try and force my views? ? I clearly said that I personally felt uncomfortable but NUFC fans SHOULD NOT feel guilty about this. You were the one telling people what to think you cretin. Maybe read what's been said first before commenting eh?
  11. Honestly man, if you cannot have an adult conversation about a genuine issue with out telling people to FO, why bother?
  12. I'm not saying you should feel guilty, it's completely out of our hands and the football morality ship having since sailed. It is possible to feel incredibly excited about what's about to come but also concerned about who and why they own us. You can feel both.
  13. There's a good starting point. https://www.amnesty.org.uk/saudi-arabia-human-rights-raif-badawi-king-salman Would be interested to see whether the not the Trust would be open to pushing PIF on some of these issues, and we could actually be a force for good.
  14. Definitely feel like we need to have a thread about this, as I'm currently feeling very conflicted about the takeover. Is it just me?
  15. Off to the Punchbowl shortly with a few mates.
  16. Get to fuck you horrible bastard, may karma come back and bite you on your fat arse some day for the way you treat this club.
  17. My son was born 3 months after Ashley bought the club and the drudgery under Ashley is all he's ever known. I had a ST with him for the Rafa promotion and the first season back but walked away when he didn't back him in the second. I explained the situation to my my son who was gutted but even at 12 years of age, he said he understood. I promised him we'd be back in the ground the day Ashley left the club, and managed to get us some Spurs tickets last night. Can't wait, even if we do get battered. I still have issues with the Saudis as owners and not sure I'll be back myself.....but delighted for my son and his generation to hopefully witness (and more) the excitement of the Keegan years. Hats off to all who protested against Ashley, including the many good folk I met off here through that. You know who you are. Great post BTW LFEE.
  18. The gormless melts that did that deserve Bruce and Ashley.
  19. An unkempt shambling charlatan, the Boris Johnson of football.
  20. He may well prove to be but you can't make that statement after one game.
  21. As much as I hate Edwards & Bruce, he's got a point mind. Bruce, the PL & the failed takeover are just a massive distraction from the real cause of this club's slow and painful death, one Michael James Wallace Ashley. Time to forget the sideshows, get behind a genuine cause, and run this cunt out of town once and for all.
