It's not really a closed shop at all is it? It's a closed shop to people who pirate PL games from a broadcaster who pays millions to show the games 100% correct. If they didn't pirate the games and hurt the financial bottom line of the PL then of course they'd be allowed in. That being said they have handled this whole process very badly. People on here acting like it's a big conspiracy to hold Newcastle down is a bit embarassing imo. I don't think it's a conspiracy theory against Newcastle per se, but there have definitely been objections made from league rivals and other parties, when the bottom line is, that they should have nothing to do with the O&D decision. The PL need to come out and qualify what the sticking points were, but I suspect they won't as these could be challenged legally. Will be interesting to see if Ashley makes a legal case against the PL, as that effectively is our only hope of resurrecting this particular deal.

Don't think the PL give a flying f***, all the talk of being scared of getting sued seems to have been wishful thinking. Only Ashley could have really taken them to the cleaners, and it seems he's happy enough to pocket £17m instead. Seen a few mentions on Twitter about PIF pulling out to allow Ashley to sue PL for filibustering, if they are confident O&D test has been adhered to. Way of backing PL into corner with potentially very expensive legal case.

I walked away after 38 years when McClaren was appointed but started taking my son in the Rafa promotion season. Renewed my ST for 17/18 but sacked it off when it was clear he wasn't going to back the manager once again the following year. Would have loved to take my kids to an ambitious NUFC once more but I won't be back until we start acting like a proper club again. Although I was torn on having the Saudis as owners, I'm still absolutely gutted after today's news.

He's an utter fraud in my opinion, who couldn't get out of Newcastle quick enough in the very unlikely scenario of him being offered the Man Utd job. A mate of mine knows one of the first team squad very well, and the feeling in the dressing room is that although he's one of the lads, they view him as a bit of a joke, especially when it comes to training and tactics. Which will come as no surprise to anyone.
