Did we not wait until July to spend the last 2 summers? I might be wrong but I remember making a comment on it the season we were relegated. At the time I was wondering if it was something to do with the accounts.

AC Milan but only just took over I think.
-
So if this drags on for how many ever weeks and falls through we are basically fucked. I wonder if its got something to do with the election ;D

Never liked Mike Ashley and had many an argument with people defending him early doors.. But now he has give me what I wanted from the start. A manager who knows how to run a club and has a plan for the future, can train and try to bring out the best of what we have. While Ashley takes a back seat and backs the manager. He is where he should be "invisible" I will give him credit when/if Rafa is allowed to accomplish his goal of taking us somewhere decent without interfering.

Supposedly a freekick specialist

Its absolute crazy money.. some of the prices quoted for players is getting ridiculous.
-
Josh King and Sigurdsson would get us goals.. Had a feeling Lucas might end up here but given his age and what not. Would take Phil Jones' ugly moy.. Leaves striker and a LB?

Over the last 4 seasons (including this) we have won just 1 Monday night game losing the other 11. Thats some stat -
Pretty sure that was a lot of Liverpool's fans complaints with him.. upwards and onwards.
-
Does anyone get the feeling Sports Direct will be our next shirt sponsors? Its perfect timing to be fair.. we have a top manager, likely to get promoted and all the fans our behind the club. If Rafa gets backed in the summer, it will be interesting to see how people take it.
-
Mitrovic has scored more PL goals in a season than Gayle, scored more Champions League goals than Gayle despite being 22 yo. I like Gayle and I hope he takes it up to the Premier League, but this hatred of Mitro by some fans is ridiculous. Maybe he doesnt fit Rafa's tactics, maybe its a lack of confidence after relegation, maybe he hasnt had enough of a run of games through injury/selection. The same with Sels comes to a new country, doesnt settle in straight away and is lambasted on social media by absolute retards, there is plenty of examples of foreign players taking time to settle at clubs before coming good. If Mitrovic converted every chance he would unreal.. what is it 6 in 9 for him?
-
Rafa would be foolish to say he doesnt want to leave the club.. it would weaken his hand when it comes to talks at the end of the season.
-
Personally I dont think the club wanted to sign any players in the January window for whatever reason, I suspect its something to do with accounting. I also think Carr might have Ashley's ear. But if it was just as simple as Palace trying to do us over and make us pay more money for Townsend than they payed, then why not communicate that to Rafa. Surely being upfront and honest would make for a better understanding of the situation. Instead it makes the club look fractured.
-
Never fancied Barrow to be honest.. We are in much better position to sign better players in the summer anyways. I get the feeling we dont want a transfer fee on the accounts at this time for some reason
-
We already have most of his information ie medical scans and what not.
-
I think the worry with everyone is the stories coming about about Ashley a few weeks back, pretty certain someone on this site claimed Carr seemed perplexed when asked about Murphy signing. Its pretty much us just expecting the worst. We will find out in the summer if the club try to force signings on Rafa that he doesnt want. You would think Palace would want Townsends wages off the bill so maybe its just down to haggling to see which club takes it up the arse.
-
If its on loan with no obligation to buy then I dont see a problem. We can see what he is like over the next 5 months, if he is a bit shite then we can buy a better player if we are promoted.

From Red Cafe This is a good little read, from Steve Bacon, from when Pardew was at West Ham, just in case you had any apprehension as to whether or not Pardew is a t***: “I don’t like Alan Pardew. There, I’ve said it. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever known a more arrogant person in my life. We never got on from the first moment we met – and our relationship deteriorated from there. There was one occasion when I threatened to stick a fork in his hand. I was sort of joking, but there were definitely times when I felt like swinging at him. Or telling him to fork off, if you follow my drift.” “Let me tell you a story. In fact, it’s called the ‘King story’ among those who were present and who believe it’s a perfect example of Pardew’s arrogance. We were staying at a hotel in the North East ahead of a game at Sunderland during Alan’s first season in charge and were about to have our Friday evening meal. The players were restricted to boiled chicken or pasta, or suchlike, whereas the rest of the West Ham party had the choice of the entire menu. I sat down with Pardew, kit manager Eddie Gillam, physiotherapist John Green and fitness coach Tony Strudwick, who now works for Manchester United and has done very well for himself. We ordered our meals and suddenly Pardew asked us all what we were having. I think Eddie said he’d gone for the chicken, while I’d chosen the steak. Pards then turned to Struds, who revealed whatever it was he’d asked for. ‘That sounds good,’ said Pards. ‘Tell you what; if yours is better than mine when it turns up, I’m having that.’ That was one of the things he’d always say: I’m having that. ‘See that bloke’s haircut? I’m having that.’ He said it all the time. Anyway, I wasn’t ‘having that’ at all. So I said, ‘Well, you’re certainly not having my dinner. You’ll get a fork in the back of your hand!’ Pardew sort of laughed, before turning back to Struds and saying, ‘Yeah, if yours is better than mine, I’m having that.’ Our meals eventually arrived and Pards looked at Tony and said, ‘Yeah, I was right, yours definitely looks much better than mine; I’m having that.’ And he went to swap the plates over. ‘You can’t do that!’ I said. ‘What do you mean?’ he asked. ‘You can’t just take somebody else’s dinner,’ I said in disbelief. And he replied, without any hint of a joke, ‘When you’re the King, you can do anything.’ Eddie, Tony, John and I just looked at each other and there was an uncomfortable silence for a moment. Struds was a nice guy but he could be a bit of a ‘yes man’ at times and so he just allowed Pardew to swap the plates. However, the rest of us were flabbergasted by it all and we ended up discussing what had happened in the bar. Alan kept a straight face when referring to himself as ‘the King’ and I just couldn’t believe the arrogance of the man.”

I think Rafa is missing a trick.. Gayle and Mitro would dominate this league. Mitrovic winning headers and holding up the ball bringing Gayle into play would be more effective than either Perez or Diame in the number 10 imo. But according to a lot of of LFC fans he wont deviate from the the plan and play 2 upfront. I saw a lot of pumping balls into the box the last few games and no one there to really win it. I still think Rafa is the dogs and this formation will pay dividends in the Premier League.

I want to see Mitro winning balls and bringing Gayle into play.. Ayoze is out of form and Diame has been rather hit and miss. -
