Sterling is our only goalscorer so far to be fair so there's little chance of him being dropped. Dortmund have a pretty fluid front three and I think Sancho actually looks a lot better coming in of the left like he did a lot last season. He's never really looked the same player for England with Southgate restricting him to a more rigid right hand side role.

With the quality of CBs around at the moment, even with an unlimited budget I'm not sure who you could realistically go for who'd be a certainty.

Shouldn't be scared of a German side with no forward and a mess of a defence. Reckon we'll see Saka on the right again to combat Gosens, we can hurt these on the counter though.

Kane just had one of his best seasons in his career and definitely improved his all round game under Mourinho. He's looked sluggish and unfit more than being a worse player now.

Cant remember who it was but one of the foreign journos on the totally football show was saying England are thought of as a much better squad throughout Europe than most in this country rate them. I tend to agree. A side like Portugal have a 38 year old Pepe, Semedo and Guerreiro making up 3 of their back 4 along with two average defensive mids. Belgium have been playing Alderweireld, Boyata and a Vertonghen who can barely run anymore in a back 3. At international level pretty much every nation is going to have deficiencies and weaknesses and I'd say we look better than most on paper.

You can forgive a bad performance, most teams will have one that go on to do well. The worrying sign is how conservative the manager has our players set up. Fullbacks are clearly under instruction to not get forward much and with two defensive midfielders it's severely limiting us. We have one of the strongest squads and with 5 substitutes there's a lot of scope to change things in a game but I have no confidence in Gareth's ability to do so.

Seems the perfect balance in midfield for him to do well in. Kante with either Rabiot or Tolisso gives him so much freedom.

What is this questioning towards Sterling

Without knowing too much about anything like this would this have been an underlying issue or just random? Kinda scary when it happens to a top athlete.
