Brazil and Portugal putting in the best performances so far last two nights and I'm not even sure you can take much from it. Both opponents setup horribly and made it about as easy you could hope for.

Portugal look better with the change in system and having actual width now. That narrow 4312 they were running in the group stages never looked right.

He's legit one of the nicest people I've ever met. Dedicates alot of his free time to local charities and football clubs. Even when he was a player he'd be turning up at local training sessions having a kickabout and sending hours signing stuff and taking photos with everyone. Uses his family box to let kids go to games who can't afford tickets. Has an open home where you can just turn up and get fed on the weekend where his mam cooks a massive African buffet each week. He pays for a lot of private tutoring for asylum seekers and foreign kids who've came over to catch them up to the same level of school kids their age. His mam hasn't needed to work for years but still does full time as a nurse. He gives a lot back to the local community for someone who's somehow earned the reputation of being greedy and selfish.

Yeahh Brazil clearly had a few more gears to go up in if they wanted to. Just coasted in the second half which is fair enough as the game was pretty much over at HT.

Think France actually look more well balanced with Giroud than Benzema. The three behind just seem to function better playing off him. Kante is a big miss but he's been fairly terrible or looked unfit the last year or so anyway.

France is obviously a different sort of test but Southgate deserves credit for breezing into the quarter finals stress free. Top scorers and 3 clean sheets in a row. Can't knock that at world cup.

You get a fair few attackers bursting onto the scene at that age but can't really remember a CM being that good so young performing in Champions League and World Cup games. Looks like he's had about 10 years experience at the top level. Ridiculous.
