  2. Daily Star though, so bollocks like. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/659491/Newcastle-EXCLUSIVE-Amanda-Staveley-takeover-confirmed-this-week Newcastle EXCLUSIVE: Amanda Staveley takeover to be confirmed this week NEWCASTLE UNITED are expected to confirm the takeover of the club in the coming week. Talk has been rife of Amanda Staveley's company, PCP Capital Partners, buying the North East outfit ever since the financier was spotted at St. James' Park earlier this season. The investment company entered the process of due diligence at the club last month and wanted a deal finalised by Christmas, which matched the desires of current owner Mike Ashley. And Starsport now understands the takeover will be announced this week. The news will be welcomed by Newcastle fans, who have long sought-after a change in ownership. Staveley is said to want the deal finalised by December in order to allow Rafa Benitez the chance to plan a transfer strategy for early 2018. Last month, Starsport reported the businesswoman had met with Newcastle chiefs in London to discuss the takeover and that Benitez will receive upwards of £100m to spend when the transfer window rolls back around. The club were said to be prioritising the need for a left-back, midfielder and forward. Moves for Luke Shaw, Ross Barkley and former Magpies striker Andy Carroll were all discussed in the meeting. Benitez has remained tight-lipped when it comes to takeover speculation but will no doubt be excited by the prospect of a transfer war chest. Newcastle return to action when they take on Manchester United after the international break.
  3. Ings works his balls off for the team, that's the kind of player Rafa loves. Ings is a bit like Ritchie in that respect, hard work. Matt Ritchie is probably the perfect Rafa player like. Edit : wouldn't really want to sign him, we need a front man with a bit of pace, and two ACL's injuries will cost him a yard or two of pace.
  4. Glentoran v Ballymena, there's something quite great about seeing a massive Truck and Trailer parked next to the pitch
  5. We can't score hence we'll lose unless we hold out for a 0-0. Utterly boring and abysmal game. 2-0 loss.
  6. Sounds like you convinced him and anyone else on the premise. Fair point
  7. I was talking to Tony Cottee earlier (as you do). And I gave him both barrels about us not being mental as the Southern press make out, I told him what we really expect not the Champions League bollocks and maybe mentioning that next time he's on SSN talking about us. That and Merson was a fuck nugget. Must have thought I was mental, then I got chucked out of the department for being too scruffy. Meh.
  8. Funnily enough that very reason can't be used for our Striker. In fairness to Lukaku though at least he has a history of scoring goals Fair point
  9. Aye it was a rocket of a shot like.
  10. He had the hump because the ref (rightly imo) gave a foul against him on King i think shortly before his booking, he was still annoyed. It's daft because it was a foul. Never understand footballers going mental when they clearly foul someone and think they haven't. He was annoyed because the ref didn't give a foul after he went to ground very easily and the ref gave a corner. Ref was correct. I'm talking about Shelvey's booking, not Lejeune's mate
  11. Theirs to lose imo. They're just so good going forward it's scary.

  14. 5 points off 5th I like that but it's a tad optimistic seeing the fixtures we have coming up. 0-0 and appalling game against Man Utd, beat Watford at home. Same as the Man Utd game for West Brom away. 5 points from 3. Decent Well i think more the next 10 or so but i like your thinking too, not confident that's likely with the way we can't score but you never know.
