Ki & Schär were real positives. It really highlighted what a miss Lejeune has been and although Fernandez has done ok, he’s not great on the ball. When Ki came on we suddenly looked comfortable on the ball in midfield. Shelvey can really pick a good pass but is he actually a good midfield player? Btw, Ki still looks way off match fitness.. Rondon did ok too. He’ll improve with more games. Fantastic result, Watford have demolished us regularly for a few seasons so this was always going to be a tough game.

It might come as a shock to some of you on here but most players at clubs don’t really give a fuck about how the fans feel. They’re commodities to be traded. Poorly educated and all about the appearance of wealth because for the most part they come from nothing. Here one day, gone the next. They have little to no affinity with the clubs they play for and only in rare occasions do players form a bond with fans. Yes Lascelles should have kept his mouth shut, but so fucking what, what’s changed? Our club is still a heap of shit and we’re still set to lose Rafa in about 6 months. Keith Bishop told Lascelles to say that. Essentially throwing him under the bus to take the heat off Mike Ashley and Sports Direct. It’s not Lascelles fault that he was too thick to realise what was happening. And he is thick.. you only had to listen to that radio interview to realise that.

So we should all invade the pitch, remove our shoes and beat Lascelles to death with them? What’s appropriate punishment for saying the wrong thing for a young lad these days?? Fucks sake. Interesting. It’s either a gesture to boost moral with the squad or.. he knows something we don’t. Or there’s the possibility he has no ambition and has just settled for being squad captain here, has no interest in winning titles and just wants to pick up a decent wage until he’s well into his 30’s. (which in itself is a smart move if financial security and family stability is important)

In agreement on this. I think we’re so poor at this point that a good percentage of championship clubs could beat us now. Any of the young talent coming through have been stifled at every step of the way. So aside from Lascelles who won’t be worth even half of what we thought he would, none of the rest of the first team squad could be sold on for much so rebuilding could be near on impossible. I wondered a lot today if Mike Ashley saw what happened at Leicester and envied how those supporters or even players thought of the owner there. I think that’s perhaps how he thought or hoped it might be at the start before things went sour after KK.
