FFS. Out of nothing. Edit - Clark.
-
He’s a tidy player. Moves the ball around quicker than Shelvey, has better footwork too.
-
They can’t defend from corners! The last thing I’d expect from a Burnley side ? Hopefully they get frustrated now and start picking up stupid cards.
-
We’re in far better fettle than the last time we played them. (We were woeful that night) so I think we can at least get a point from this game. Good to see Shelvey not walk straight back into the side too. Only gripe is Clark at LB but that’s where we’re at when the only other option is Manquillo or some lad who’s never played.
-
If he wasn’t it wouldn’t be an issue. Players come and go all the time, it’s only because he supported the club and it being his dream move that we all wanted it to work out so badly. He’s also a certified lunatic of the Asprilla variety. Something that’s always gone down well with the supporters. It’s a shame Rafa couldn’t get the best out of him but that ship has now firmly sailed. He’ll get a much bigger move off the back of this season if he keeps banging in the goals. Good luck to the lad.

boooooo. Maybe he can take the under 21 job............ In all seriousness happy enough with Mick McCarthy He’s a better manager than Martin O’Neill for sure but this is a totally different setup to what he inherited first time round. If he could convince Rice to declare it would be a great start, but that ship has probably long sailed..
-
They tried that already with Brian Kerr and it didn’t work out. The problems go way deeper than changing the manager around anyway, could stick Pep Guardiola there and it would still be total shite. Delaney is a huge part of the problem, he has no vision. There’s money there that could be invested in grassroots football and try and set up a youth system for bringing players on.
-
The fact he was probably slaughtered means his recollection of it and actually what happened are two very different things. It’s 2018 ffs. Women are furious. You can’t be doing shit like that.
-
Just another decent prospect here who’s been swallowed up by the club/lifestyle. It’s been a long list over the years..
-
Fair play to the 20 who bothered going. It was always going to be the case that this would lose momentum once we got a few wins. The worst part about it was that Keith Bishop was right..
-
It’s great to see even the most optimistic of supporters call a spade a spade now. He’s here until he decides he’s not. Minimum 3-5 years I reckon.
-
I agree, he’s definitely got the tools. Like I said before, he needs to really come on and make an impression on a game, give Rafa something to think about. He’s shown some nice touches here and there, lots of being shrugged off the ball and the one time he was put through on goal he scored against city. Ritchie has been run into the ground recently so he’s bound to get a chance. Maybe with the team playing better he’ll get the ball in better positions. I’d be made up if things started going well for him, he’s not a mercenary, this is his dream move pretty much.
-
For someone who supports the club, you’d think he’d be doing everything he can to get in the team. It’s disappointing.
-
He’s got plenty of pace but he’s yet to really affect the game in any sort of meaningful way. When Ki and Schär came on against Watford, they seemed to realise the situation and both made the most of it. Shelvey and Lascelles will now have a task to get back in the team. Murphy has had a few chances to do this but just lets it pass him by. All he has to do to get in the team is offer more than Matt Ritchie, surely not an impossible task. How many more chances will Rafa offer this kid?
-
He’s building back to his form of last season. Superb at his best. It was a shaky start for the whole squad which can’t have been helped by all the turmoil over the summer. Hopefully the international break isn’t coming at the wrong time.
-
I wonder if the recent online campaign had anything to do with this!? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/markets/article-6381409/MARKET-REPORT-Sports-Direct-tycoon-Mike-Ashley-takes-124m-hit-wealth.html

Schär being in the team highlights how the team really needs a ball playing CB. His passing was superb today, but he got bailed out several times by Fernandez after taking up bad positions. Hopefully Lejeune comes back just as good as he was before getting injured. This has nothing to do with the Ashley comments, but I think Lascelles could struggle to keep his place once we have full options. Captain or not, if we’re winning games without him, Rafa won’t change what’s working.

Aye. “Now Manchester City, you’ve been very naughty, we want you to think of an appropriate punishment and ensure that you enact this. We won’t be checking to see if you did so we’re trusting that this will be done”
-
No he hasn't. Sorry but he has. Works hard but offers nothing. Agreed, Yedlin would do an equal if not better job if played in the same position. Plus you know he could track back if required. If we signed a decent RB it would be interesting to see how Yedlin would fare as an all out attacking threat.. his pace would give defenders nightmares. The most Ritchie does is charge down the right, do a little pirouette and then either play the ball back to defenders or to Shelvey (right beside the defenders) He’s played one decent cross all season. Not good enough for a winger. Always have the feeling he’s going to get a booking every time he goes for the ball too. He’s got that aggressive short man syndrome going on and no amount of shit haircuts will cover up the fact.
-
For a left footed player, why does he always cut inside? Surely it would be easier for him to just run at a defender and just cut back (with his left foot) Maybe playing the no.10 role would bring the best out of him?
-
If we hadn’t have had those injuries I shudder to think how the match would have played out. Schär would have never gotten on the pitch. Rondon would have been hooked for Joselu after 60 mins and Perez for Muto with 8 mins remaining. Rafa will collect the win but the reality is that if we hadn’t picked up injuries we wouldn’t have won here. It’s worrying to think that there’s a better team in our squad that will probably never get picked unless it’s through emergency.
-
And drop Yedlin? Big mistake imo, he's a very, very important player for us, his covering is invaluable. Dummett is also one of our more consistent performers, I'd like to stay in a back 4 and have our 4 centre backs fight it out for the two spots. It's a healthy situation to be in. Yedlin has to be in the team, but I’d play him as a wing back. Maybe in a setup like this. Dubravka Schär Fernandez Lejeune Yedlin/Ritchie Dummett/Kenedy Diame Ki Shelvey Muto Rondon
-
Maybe a Schär/Lejeune partnership in January could be the way to go.
