Those 4 defeats were games you'd probably expect to lose as well, Leicester away the most disappointing one of the lot given the season they're having. Only loss at home was to Man City in which the scoreline flattered the opposition. All 4 losses had utterly rancid refereeing against us too.

Everton playing well.

He's brilliant. Done an outstanding job so far and has completely transformed us. The signings of Burn and Targett have been outstanding. Think he must've worked on the defensive side of his teams over the time out of the game he had, the trips to watch Simeone work at Atleti, et cetera. Completely trust him now, getting to the point where I don't care about what 11 he starts, especially after these results without Trippier, Wilson and ASM.

1. Aren't out of it but we are a good side now. Beat Brighton and we'll probably only need another 7 points. I expect us to get more than 7.
-
He doesn't seem to get enough power on his headers. Should've scored today. But as long as we win games and/or continue to pick up points like we are I couldn't give a fuck.
-
Oozes class. And he's fit as fuck. 10/10 would bang.
-
Due a win against this lot. 28 points if we win with 12 games left.
-
Beat Brighton and we'll be on 28 points. Will only probably need another 7. That was professional, dominant and brilliant. Tbh, just think we're a good side now.
-
We are class. Get a few more goals and rub their nose in it.
-
Since when has Harry Kane been such a good passer of the ball, been unreal last few games.
-
3 points today and we should be confident going into Brighton at home, who have fallen off a cliff recently. Win that too we would be on 28 points and be 8 games unbeaten. A lot rides on today imo.
-
That defending for the 2nd goal was absolutely embarrassing.

Aye, that podcast this week was a good listen, first time I've gave it a go.

22 year old London lad moving hundreds of miles away for the first time, it's no wonder tbh. He's always had the ability. Thank God for Howe. Do also find him living in the countryside in Northumberland on advice to stay away from the nightlife quite funny though. Advised to stay away from Aveika, Livello and 3 trebles for 6 quid.

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
HaydnNUFC replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
West Brom fans who want to give him a chance will soon learn. Again, the British football insight that is look at the tip of the iceberg without dipping into the wider context and details on managers is here rearing it's ugly head again. "Finished 12th and 13th with Newcastle, same/better than Benitez, kept them up" is a prime example and unfortunately a common take. But we've gone over this plenty of times. Fuck him. Howe has shown him up in more ways than one: as a manager and coach, how he conducts himself in the media and to the fans and how he is on the touchline. But tbh, I don't want to talk about Bruce. He's gone and thank god he is. The only time I ever want to be concerned about what this bell end does is if he ever is managing the opposition against us. Until then, I'm in bliss forgetting he exists, such the impact of Howe and the takeover has been. (Edit: BTW, I do find our fans replying and obsessing over every update, tweet or result from WBA a bit sad. Move on.) -
Aye, provided we win on Saturday I can see us getting the wins in the home games to sort our status out. 14th. Newcastle 15th. Everton 16th. Burnley 17th. Leeds. 18th. Brentford 19th. Watford 20th. Norwich

I think it's everyone from Brentford down that are worried. A look at each of them; Brentford - Only won 3 out of the last 19, taken 12 points from the last 57. All of those 3 wins were 1 goal wins at home. Last 7 games were difficult fixtures though and they have Toney to come back and Eriksen to get fit. They play us, Norwich and Burnley in their next 3. Leeds - Taken 13 points from last 45. Squad is stretched, Phillips and Bamford both injured has hugely affected them as did a lack of January business. A bad yardstick to use but a fair few Leeds fans online are seriously questioning both Bielsa and their chairman. They are quite unpredictable though given the way they play. Everton - If the season started from Howe's appointment here, they'd be bottom (I think). They seem to crumble away from home but I think, in spite of their tough fixtures, they'll get the points they need at home. Good players on paper but seriously weak mentality in them imo. Newcastle - Us and Liverpool are the only 2 unbeaten sides in 2022 in the league. In form but we have a few injuries. I think we'll be safe if we can beat Brentford and Brighton in our next two; we'd be on 28 points and I think ~35 will keep you up this season and I'd expect us to get the ~7 points we need in our remaining games, certainly at home. Plus we still have Everton, Norwich and Burnley to play again, albeit away. Burnley - Back to back wins and they haven't really been losing games, only lost 9 times this season and they have the 7th best defence in the league. I think if we can beat Brentford it'll be one of Leeds, Brentford and Everton that drop due to the momentum us and Burnley will have, provided Burnley carry on this form. Watford & Norwich - Going to include these together as I think they'll go down. TBH I can't see them getting to 30 points, I thought that game last night was one Watford would probably win, they lost 1-4. Norwich are all round just pretty poor.
-
Really? Christ. Their signings since have been incredibly poor.
-
We're very strong at home, teams won't want to come to SJP right now and aside from Liverpool (h) I can see us getting points in all of our home games from now to the end of the season. Howe has only lost at home to Man City since he's been in charge and the scoreline from that game flattered Man City. Only problem is with Palace (h) likely to be moved due to FA Cup, that'd mean that only 1 of our next 6 games are at home. Need to see more of us away from home under Howe to make a judgement on how effective we are, only had tough games up to now but Leeds and West Ham both were promising.
-
Tottenham have needed an overhaul since that Champions League final. Pochettino was sacked, Mourinho was sacked, Nuno was sacked. The manager isn't the problem at that club, despite that Mourinho and Nuno probably weren't the best appointments in hindsight.
-
Could've done without Burnley winning but it is still in our hands as we still have Burnley to play. Even still I think we'll be safe before then. I can't see Watford or Norwich getting to 30 points tbh, so that leaves 1 spot left. Saturday is huge, if we can win there I think we'll also beat Brighton at home after that; that'd be 8 games unbeaten, 5 wins in those 8. Teams that go on that kind of run don't go down. We're improving in every metric and still have better players to come back into the team. We'll be okay, tad bit of trepidation around these away games up to the international break though. Need to be getting points on Saturday, at Everton and probably at Southampton too given that trip to Stamford Bridge in between.
