PSG v Real is dreadful. As are Man Utd.

When would new season tickets go on sale? Also do existing season ticket holders/members get the chance to buy another one before everyone else similarly to normal home tickets? Desperate to get my seat back next to me fatha, didn't renew for 2019-20 due to both uni and Rafa leaving. No one has bought it up to now as I've been paying for my old seat for almost each game individually. Saved up and held back money from my 21st for it, it was around 800 quid at the start of this season.

Aye, canny that. Under Howe he's been putting in consistent solid performances and doing the donkey work game after game which he only ever seemed to do once every 10 games or so under previous managers. Covering ground, getting stuck in defensively and everyone knows he has an eye for a pass that splits opposition lines. Glad he's now looking for those kinds of passes rather than the 70 yard diagonals once he picks the ball up in front of the CBs before they split. No coincidence that all of these improvements; Shelvey, Willock, Joelinton, some of our CBs and our general play have all improved under Howe.

Probably be back after the next international break so for Spurs away on the 2nd April.

He is completely ineffective in the middle and it hurts the team when he plays there too; when he's out wide he drags players out to him, the opposition full back plus one go to close him down as teams double up on him or even at times triple up on him. In the middle he has fewer time and space to receive the ball and it's more difficult to beat players through the middle unless it's a counterattack. He played there under Bruce and Jones and has largely ghosted as a result.

He was really good on Sunday, arguably his best performance under Howe. Was great at Leeds too. Good to see. I'd be happy to see him given another 2 years. Also love that interview just before Howe's first game. He hated Bruce. Not just his expression when the question was asked but when he says "I was at times surprised not to be in the first 11, I've over 70 caps for my country". Fucking Bruce man. Odious cunt.
-
But he doesn't track back!
-
Howe has planned to ease him in and that decision has been a good one. We've won both games in which he's been on the bench. He'll come into the side eventually, can see it being at West Ham tbh, we've yet to have an away fixture with him available. Will help us look after the ball a lot more.

Regarding the marginal offside, we didn't get a stonewall pen at Villa Park because of this; What goes around comes around.

With ASM you take the rough with the smooth. Yesterday was an awful game as a spectacle, very stop start due to awful refereeing and both defences were largely sound. That means that attacking players have quiet games, ASM, Coutinho, Bailey when he came on, were all poor. But in ASM's case he'll always have games like that but you have to take that on the chin as he'll pop up with a performance like he put in against Everton or a brilliant individual goal. Can't expect him to be 100% on it every game because that's who he is.

Darn shame. Hopefully Manquillo is okay, him and Targett as full backs is more than adequate.

Great listen, those first 12 minutes or so. Think he's been a bit wide of the mark when it comes to Benitez' time here but in regards to us in general he only ever speaks incredibly highly of us.

Reading this post of mine back has brought about bafflement and borderline nausea tbh. I was still quite invested tbh even from afar at uni in 2019-20 under Bruce but COVID era football behind closed doors was soulless, monotonous and plain boring to me. Over last season I only ever watched us, no top 6 games, no CL or EL games, nowt. Then the start of this season with Ashley and Bruce having us "ticking along" with the neglectful management of both cunts had me not looking forward to this season whatsoever. Personally remember how miserable the apathy made me, but I still followed every game, watched it, celebrated goals, all the stuff I suppose a normal football fan would do. But knowing that the bigger picture was largely pointless, it was just counting down the games, seasons, whatever until a takeover materialised. Now that we have that... I'm as invested as I've ever been. I'm paying out of my pocket as a 3rd year student to come back from Derby for every home game. I'm posting on here whenever I get the chance too, reading .com, the Athletic, looking at Twitter for news even when there is none, thinking of designs for Wor Flags amongst many. A huge fucking 1.

He must be horrible to play against, constantly getting nicks and small touches which takes the ball off of your toe. Love him. His turnaround starting from Howe's first game in charge is no coincidence. So many of our players just needed a coach to recognise their strengths, weakness and to improve the latter and solidify the former.

Pawson btw was absolutely shite. I thought McGinn was lucky to be on the pitch, he committed 2 stonewall yellow card offences in the first half and was only booked for 1 of them. Digne also should've been booked but HT was blown for when the ball went out during the phase of play he committed the offence. Stop-start feel to the game in the 2nd half which is probably why the game as a spectacle was fairly rank.

I'd take a point, but our record down there is good. 3 points would be phenomenal.

Dreadful game, amazing result. One of those 8 or 9 games a season where both teams are off it and 1 goal from a set piece or break will pinch it. We pinched it, just like we did at Leeds. Burn was outstanding and my MOTM. ASM was quiet but so were the likes of Coutinho, as aforementioned it was one of those dross games. Confident of staying up now. HTL.

Last two times the club was largely fractured. Fractured for more or less the whole of 08-09, all of 15-16 bar the final 10 games. Our current fixtures up to the next international break are decent, plus we still have to play Everton, Norwich and Burnley to play again. Also, if we continue on Howe's current PPG rate, we'll finish on 36 points which may be enough.
-
Currently I'd say Burnley are an 8, Watford a 6, Norwich a 5 and us below 5, below 3 or 4 if we win tomorrow.
-
You think there's a 60% chance we'll go down?
