Absolutely embarrassing the way some went on during those first 10 games last season.
-
Unsure about Anita in midfield but aye. Krul, Debuchy, Coloccini, Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon, Anita, Cabaye, Sissoko, Ben Arfa, Remy, Cisse Wonder where that side would've finished had we not sold Cabaye or had a decent manager in. Even the 15/16 side that went down is a decent side. Fucking Pardew and McClaren, man.

More like a football/NUFC random thought, but could an argument be made that the team we had in the first half of 2013/14 (Remy, Cabaye, Ben Arfa etc) before the wankers actually sold Cabaye was better than the 2011/12 team that did finish 5th? While the former side did have some shockers (Man City (a), Hull (h), Everton (a), mackems (a), Swansea (a)) they also had some of the most complete performances we've seen in the PL in the last few years (Liverpool (h), Chelsea (h), Man Utd (a), Palace (a)). Only time I recall an incredibly lucky result was away at Spurs. On Boxing Day after we stuffed 9 man Stoke 5-1 and big Sparky Hughesy chucked his coat in the air, we had 33 points from 18 games, 6 points off top. We then lost some games post Christmas, sold Cabaye and everything completely fell apart.

Watched the highlights of it back. Probably putting 2 and 2 together and getting fuck knas but Perez doesn't celebrate the goal really, perhaps he knew he was going there or something. Probably not.

You just want to do it same time this Sunday coming? I’ll change the title if so. Yeah, for sure. I've already written three rounds this morning so I must be keen/bored. Shall we keep a track of the podium places in the opening post for fun? Are half of them guess the starting lineup?

Cheers for putting that together neesy111[/member]

If this takeover happens (which it won't) I'd love Rafa back and pay whatever extortionate amount of money it is for my old ST seat and come back up from uni every game. I adore the man and think he's a perfect fit for us. But there's a part of me that wants us to have a completely fresh start if we're taken over. Probably getting into cuckoo delewded jawdee territory here, but either Allegri or Pochettino I'd happily take perhaps even at the expense of Rafa coming back. Not that its gonna happen like.

Should be alright with anything NUFC related post 1988. Anything else and I'm fucked.

Oh go on then.

There's quite a few, and a lot are before I was even born so Beardsley v Spurs, 1993 Beardsley v Norwich, 1995 Ferdinand v Coventry, 1995 Albert v Man Utd, 1996 Asprilla v Liverpool, 1997 Beresford v Villa, 1997 Shearer v Everton, 2002 Robert's brace v Spurs, 2003 Robert v Liverpool, 2004 Cabaye v Man Utd, 2012 Ben Arfa v Bolton, 2012 Cisse's brace v Chelsea, 2012 Cisse v Southampton, 2013 Perez v West Brom, 2014 Shelvey v QPR, 2016 Perez v Ipswich, 2016 Schar v Burnley, 2019 Almiron v Palace, 2019 (not because it was a great goal but because I love Miggy) Great goals that never were: Mirandinha v Liverpool, 1989 Solano v Inter, 2003 Tiote v Man City, 2014

Cheers. Mixture of busyness with uni and taking a break from it all. Still lurked on here from time to time.

Willems' loan was terminated.
-
6-2. Scholes hattrick. Were 6-1 down for a good chunk of the game.
-
Turns out that if we won that game we would've gone 3 points behind Arsenal and Man Utd with 6 games left, one of which was Man Utd at SJP. Which went well.
-
Albeit it was against a poor side, did the manner in which we won v QPR on the Saturday after (2 late Beardsley goals) not boost morale amongst the players and fans in the slightest?
-
Owen spouting more shite in his new excuse of a book. What a tosser that man is. Pretty much doesn't refute the claims of him being a sick note or playing when he wanted and wraps it in digs and excuses.

I know a few lads my age who understand what the craic is and have stopped going/putting any cash into the club while Ashley owns it, but also a few who don't really seem to care what's happening at the club and at this point I just let them get on with it. Personally find no point in getting into arguments because it descends into puerile nonsense which is all too common across social media platforms atm. I also don't think I can ever get myself to the point of wanting us to lose games. I totally understand why people would but I could never do so personally. I don’t really judge fans either way TBH, we’re all in the shit and it’s all contrary to what being a supporter is supposed to mean. I gave it up out of self preservation more than anything else, it’s just too depressing and futile to be involved in. Aye, agreed.

Personally stopped posting in this section a couple of months ago and barely been logged in since Rafa left for a variety of reasons, partly due to trying to find ways to disconnect with the club (which is nigh on impossible with being involved so closely over the majority of my existence) and for other reasons only a couple posters know about. Matchdays still have me checking for updates on Twitter, watching it live whenever I can but away from that I’ve barely checked anything related to the club, completely apathetic about it all which is depressing; Rafa’s quote about what 18 year old supporters think about the club now is striking. Especially to me for the obvious reason that I am 18. I’ve had fuck all to be really excited about bar the last 3 and a half years which even still weren’t without their Ashleyisms, imposing misery. But we felt like something resembling a football club with Rafa Benitez in charge and that's been taken away and shat on. I can barely be arsed to get involved with protests against this fat cunt. I admire the people involved and will support them all the way as much as I can but can’t help but feel they’re fighting a losing fight, I think gates this season will mirror those of the first half of 2010/11: 41,000-47,000, which isn’t enough of a statement. Boycotts en masse have seemingly never had the appetite from NUFC supporters, stretching as far back as the period between 1988-1992, the United Supporters for Change group backed a boycott against Leeds in August ‘89 but the majority still went. Attendances dropped when results were bad and we were stuck in Div. 2 and floating in midtable and eventually flirting with relegation: 10,004 against Oxford et al. (anyone around during that period correct me if I’m wrong, may well be talking shite) Ashley could’ve easily avoided all of this: keep Rafa by giving him the pay rise, backing and investment he deserved which wasn’t much in the grand scheme of the PL and would’ve been able to reap the rewards: skim the cream off the top, and advertise his cuntbag company for free, all with minimal input due to the money the club makes from a PL presence. Instead, he’s cut off his nose to spite his face and tried so hard to earn a dishonest penny this transfer window it’ll cost the club a pound. The decisions he’s made have put us on the route to relegation. Deservedly. And I feel like I couldn’t care less.

Think it's fucking shit, mate.
