  1. Starting to much prefer BT now tbh. Used to hate it but I watched our game at the weekend back and Ferdinand, Lampard and even the presenter Jake Humphrey were all spot on. Really good coverage on Saturday.
  2. Why isn't there a rush of clubs in for him if he's better than £12m? You'd think at that bargain price half of the league would be queuing up for him. We won't get a good enough replacement in this window for ≤£12m.
  3. Selling Shelvey for £12m, man. That's outrageous, man. Can't believe some posters are actually advocating it. In this market we should be demanding at least £20m for him. Get that, use the other £20m we allegedly have for a striker (if it exists) and hoy it at a top quality striker. I think the rumour is bollocks anyway so it's a moot point. Saivet, Mitrovic and Colback are the only players we should be selling unless outrageous offers come in.
  4. Burnley signing some pace. Lennon, Nkoudou. Be a tough match next week. State of how far we've fallen mind, being worried about playing Burnley at home. Fuck you, Ashley.
  5. I really would love it but I can't see Chelsea making a loss of £13m on him. They'll want what they paid. I'll be shocked but giddy as fuck if we got him at £20m.
  6. They're on the way back tbf, had a dip in recent weeks but were top for a while and have a good manager now Aye. Serie A this season has been great. Loved watching the games. Far more exciting title race than almost all of the top European leagues this season.
  7. It's not like Well there is the alternative of do nowt and hope for the best. tbh, we could bring in 3 and still go down, or we could bring in none and stay up. Nothing decided at this stage and there's some proper rough teams in the league this year, us being one of them. Well obviously there's two views. Rafa would probably go along with the view that we need to spend big to stay up, Ashley would be the do nowt and hope for the best champ. I think Rafa would more likely go with the pragmatic view of we will make do with and put faith in what we have got, come the end of the window - rather than theorising that 'x' amount must be spent in order to stay up; as it's unfortunately never that simple - we know that all to well... What was it, £80+ million outlay the season we went down? The £80m was spent on players McClaren didn't want. Carr scouted them and brought them in, threw them at McClaren and told him to make a team of it. It just doesn't work, and is a recipe for relegation. Mainly due to the quality of coach we had. Benitez showed a good manager can get a tune out of those players. EDIT: Shelvey and Townsend were probably McClaren's signings though.

  9. Napoli looking at Thauvin. Price tag of £30m.

    Rafa Benítez

Good article. Edwards is still a bell end though.
  11. No one knows who it is. Probably because he doesn't exist, and this is all a ploy before they churn out before Burnley that they tried really hard but just couldn't get the deal over the line. I pray that I'm wrong, but these cunts never change.
  12. Don't forget Lee Clarke. Hopefully he won't be as bad a player as Steve Mclaren was a manager for us.
  13. Didn't they buy him for over £33m? He would be class but I doubt £20m would be enough. Aye I doubt £20m would get him. Paying what they paid for him might get him but that'll never, ever happen for any player under Ashley.
  14. Merino was out of the blue. Maybe this will be?
  15. Why would you dream about Dembele? No idea really. A young, quick player to go with the already quick 3 behind him who I'd be looking forward to watching at SJP (like the time we were linked with Angel Correa in the summer) if we got him. Be a huge gamble like, but he's a player I'd be looking forward to see. That's probably an indicator of how desperate I am for us to get a new striker though.
  16. So it's neither of my 2 dream choices. :'( https://twitter.com/CaulkinTheTimes/status/955719898365333505

  18. Luckily we've got a really patient home crowd which isn't at all utterly rife with stinking anxiety. I genuinely don't think the message will ever get through to those who moan at the ground at games. Nope. And I really feel that, ultimately, it'll be a contributing factor to him leaving. Yes, obviously, there will be far more significant reasons for him calling it a day with us, but it was the fans that kept him the first time. If the crowd keep being arseholes to the players, after years of the manager desperately pleading with them to be the opposite, it'll make his decision to go a lot easier. His name is chanted at every game, mind. The fans are the reason he's remained here, after 3 (so far) transfer windows in which he's been screwed over. The home fans are poor at times, but they'll never be a reason for him to leave the club. The away fans are in a different league to the home ones mind. I know they are. Our away support is absolutely superb, best in the country by far. Me being biased course. /OurFansThread /RTG Fuck off.
  19. I'm a 2 if we get a striker in. 6 if we don't.

  23. We need a goalscorer. Absolutely desperate. Get one and we'll be absolutely fine.
