    On this day...

One of the most important results in our recent history. https://youtu.be/gH1BrZHDga8?si=YjUGI2AodGewnpdG
  3. Happy days. Surprised if he gets moved on this window, like. But he's needed upgraded for a while now.
  4. Just the constant repeat of those dreaded 3 letters 'FFP' (or PSR) has me thinking that every pound that we spend counts. Better value seems to be abroad and reading about the 'need for PL experience' I just find so frustrating. Especially when our best and most important players were signed from abroad in Isak and Bruno. Hence the hyperbole from myself; 'fascinated' wasn't the right word but I do think the manager favours a player who plays in the PL or has played in it over a player who hasn't for incoming transfers. We'll see. Got to just keep the faith, I guess.
  5. Isak and Tonali were but 3 of our 5 most expensive signings post takeover have been Gordon, Livramento and Barnes. Gordon has come good this season after an iffy first few months last season, Livramento has stood out but should be getting more minutes than he is imo, probably ahead of Burn and Barnes through no fault of his own has only played 180 minutes of football this season. I wasn't overly convinced we needed Barnes either, but then I thought that about Gordon last year. True but I do question how Matt Ritchie has been getting more appearances from the bench than Lewis Hall. May be something we don't know going on behind the scenes there (unsure what, mind).
  6. Given the fees that get quoted from PL clubs for their players and our lack of wriggle room due to PSR/FFP, I'd say it does atm. Not usually though.
  7. https://theathletic.com/5216690/2024/01/21/newcastle-transfer-news-trippier-wilson?source=user-shared-article https://theathletic.com/3540281/2022/08/26/alexander-isak-newcastle-transfer-record/ The Bruno and Paqueta thing is from Hope (I know) on a podcast (again, I know) a while back. Can't remember which.
  8. Fuck sake. Utterly sick to death of that. It's Howe's biggest flaw; this fascination with only signing players from other PL clubs. The most expensive market there is. Being keen on Calvert-Lewin ahead of Isak, being allegedly sceptical about Bruno, allegedly saying no to Paqueta, his comments on Solanke, links to McTominay, Billing, Kelly et al. Smoke and fire. The top clubs, which we want to become one of, hardly ever shop in the PL market. The fees and wages are over inflated for the level of ability you get. You get quoted £50m for Onana, you'll get quoted between £40m-£60m for Solanke. We got Bruno for £39m.
  9. As much of a cunt he is Bruce was right about Hope, like.
  10. Same. Anything between £15m-£30m would probably be 'good' but what he brings on and off the field can't be replaced. Been an outstanding de facto captain and one of the best RBs in Europe the last 18 months. However, a £20m fee goes straight onto the books but can spread across incoming transfers' contract lengths. Means we could bring 2 £50m players on 5 year contracts provided the first installment for both is £10m. I think?
  11. Feel incredibly similar. Not necessarily a Bayern player but a player that improves the first XI. We have a gaping hole in midfield week after week, may be selling our most creative player. So we'll still need a midfielder if this was to happen but on top of that our right hand side will be even more ineffective offensively than it already is.
  12. I agree and see that side of it but that's only if it's a sale. Ashby hasn't returned from Swansea btw. If Trippier does leave however that means we have zero creativity from the right hand side.
  13. If we got a fee of £15m-£25m I could see the logic given his age, but if its a loan it doesn't benefit us at all. Unless he wants out of course. Harry Kane and Eric Dier's families being over there eliminate any homesick feelings for his missus.
  14. Doesn't make sense. At all.
  15. Got a few full matches I found on YouTube that I've saved in a Google doc, mainly for when I make match threads. Only a handful as I use highlights mainly. 1993-94 1995-96 None from 1994-95 or 1996-97 outside of highlights. Your best bet is probably Footballia, they have a few I think.
  16. How on earth would we benefit from loaning out the captain, most creative outlet, only creative outlet on the right hand side and probably the most important player in the system we play? Unless we get Kimmich the other way, which won't happen, it makes zero sense.
  17. No idea, but that was funny.

    Joelinton

Isak imo. A replacement for him who may be better would definitely cost north of £100m (the likes of Osimhen maybe) and those players aren't going to leave for a club not in Europe.
  19. Must've got a load of our players wearing them; clad in the 1998-99 away shirt. Shag iz.
  20. Gordon also. https://www.instagram.com/p/C2KXq-toxkC/?igsh=MWlqN3g1cHVzZjlxbg==
  21. Press play on this, fast forward to 2:06:00 and enjoy. @r0cafella
