I hope this isn't an indication of expectation levels, because the next three home games will be reliant on he support playing their part, and there's nothing for Wor Flags to be inspired by.
-
Funny how not being on the pitch for 70 mins doesn't turn a player to shit. I guess the reverse might be true for those who don't play week to week [Murphy].
-
I think stunned silence is about all you can expect from the most prolific posters.
-
Early on in the game I thought he was Shelvey.

This is what twitter is for.

Seems I was correct in my assumption.
-
I assumed he [or her] meant chateaubriand.
-
Who?

Charcuterie means cold cooked meats so it's probably something a pretentious restaurant would charge £100 quid for, and some mug would buy.
-
I think we're quite unique in this respect [outside the top 6]. Teams, like Brentford [lower to middling, but ambitious to stay there], trying to keep up with the modern game, have invested in defences that are comfortable on the ball and we just destroy them.
-
Yeah. 70 mins in and we were still rampaging. Going from where we were to where we are has taken it's toll with short-term injuries, no doubt, but thankfully our hopes are not pinned on eleven [nevermind one] purple players staying fit or the entire season.
-
It probably won't get a mention but Almiron's corner was hit with some pace, having a player of Trippier's quality alongside means he can do that with confidence. The best thing that Howe has done is facilitate that kind of confident attitude throughout.
-
Fuck Grealish. Let's start comparing him to Sterling.
-
The difference, under Howe, is that [like most top clubs] every miss isn't the end of the world.
-
He's been brilliant all season, tbf, but a couple of home draws brought the sky crashing down, for some. I think, like most, I would have been delighted to see him replaced by Diaby, or similar, but [now Bruno's fit] he's the second name on the teamsheet.

Wor Flags: visit worflags.org.uk/donate to support future displays

I don't want to undermine what they do, because they're incredible and I love them, but they have a very rich pool of resources. The fans. But that said, I loved todays flag. Simple but effectve. Not trying to change the world, one flag at a time, just capturing the moment perfectly. -
How he's transformed this club, in less than 12 months, defies explanation. I know we've signed 8 new players but the bulk of the squad, which has been well used, is the same that was churning out shit, week after week, under Bruce.
-
I wonder if he's thinking "picking Jacob Murphy was never mentioned as part of 'the project'."
-
Hope and ambition are evil mistresses without belief and, more importantly, ability. Howe, and to a lesser extent [I'm delighted to say] PIF's money, has given us both.
-
Agreed. I thin today was a pretty stern test of our ambitions to be a top club, and we passed with flying colours. It's these little things that matter in the growth of the club. We could easily lose to Southampton in a couple of weeks, but tat won't mean a thing in the bigger picture. FFS we're celebrating Jacob Murphy today.
-
TBH, after his first 7-8 games, he really has made it look easy. Of course, I don't look upon home draws against Bournemouth and Palace, as failures, since I'm sure even Man C and Liverpool have succumbed. I' just happy that I can get drunk on matchday without everything turning black.

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)
Happinesstan replied to Disco's topic in Football
We're 5th now but I'd still be happy if we finish tenth. What we've achieved today [without Maxi] is to give ourselves a better chance of finishing 5th. -
I've always loved him and wanted him to become a hero for us. He's getting there. I know to some that will sound negative but I'm looking at the next 3-4 years before we see the complete player. I think he's more than the average footballer, intelligent and sensitive [or maybe more like the average future footballer] who will benefit from Howe's methods. Now that we've moved away from looking to him to be the goalscoring hero I think ther's every chance he'll become the often unsung hero.
-
Yes, but we work to a system these days and it's so relentlessly successful that we don't need the best in the world in each position for it to work.

People actually said this LOL.
