  1. It looks worse than Brighton Belles FFS.
  2. We'd need 9, out of 13. I can't see it. We're going down, this season. And I am delighted. It's all the sweeter because the smug t***s think they're doing a good job. You have 6 teams needing to catch up between 5 - 7 points and these teams are behind that much for a reason. We will stay up this season as this team is picking up points regularly despite the appalling football and forward play. Next season however is a different kettle of fish. 4 teams. Southampton and Palace are pretty much on par. Also we have to play those teams. Of course our luck might continue. 6 teams Brighton, West Ham, Bournemouth, Villa, Watford and Norwich Oh aye. I forgot only one team gets relegated this season.

  4. That looks shit. What did they do with the Office?

  6. Last time I was at Wembley the TVs in the public areas were no bigger. There were a lot more than that picture suggests mind.
  7. Even and empty stadium won't make him sell. The free advertising and the TV money is worth so much more for him There wont be any advertising worth having - no fans = no tv and no tv money because we will have successive relegations . He will sell when it starts costing him money and theres only one way to do that - leave and dont go back till hes gone He will have the team staying in the PL and get the TV money. Buy some players, sell some players but no big outlay on the squad. This is what he has been doing sience he bought the club and that's what he will do as long as he owns the club. He has no reason for selling the club. If he wanted to sell, this deal with the saudis would've been already completed by now. Don't the TV companies have to show each club a minimum of times? Isn't there a minimum payment regardless of how many times you're on? I know he cares about fans not going, but I could see him being happy with an empty stadium, with seats coloured to display the SD logo, broadcast to the world 5 times year, with 60-70 million rolling in.
  8. Aye. I grew up loving football. Football Focus, Saint and Greavsie, Radio, Vidiprinter, results, MOTD, Shoot. That was the running order at the weekend. With the midweek provided for by Sportsnight and Midweek Sports Special. Every other minute was spent playing on the field outside [loads of newly planted trees so it was more "jumper for goalpost2], or if we had a match with some other locals we'd go to Wembley (the moor, with rolling hills and trapezium goals). Scoop and Match were the literature of choice, anybody remember Ben Leiper and Jon Stark? Anyway, I had a love of football, and sport in general, long before I developed a passion for NUFC. But once I experienced SJP it became all about them. Now none of it matters, sport has gone to shit, and the reasons why are clear to anybody connected to our club [but not in the media].
  9. I left, and haven't been back, 6 years ago. He's still here. Along with 52000 fans. It's going to be some time.
  10. Reckon we'd be top 6 now if Eisenhower had stayed fit.
  11. Lejeune and Schar on the bench. A goalscorer is a goalscorer, is a goalscorer.
  12. Just waiting for Lascelles to get in amongst the goals.
  13. I'd rather be a Geordie in the 90s than a PSG fan today. That’s up to you. All I’m saying is, in terms of both the city and the football club, we have been begging for money for years. It might finally be about to come, and deservedly so, I don’t think anyone can say that we can afford to turn it down. It's not up to me. It's up to the world. I wasn't proud to be a Geordie because everybody loved us for winning everything. People loved us because we embodied a spirit that was inspirational. It's not the 90's any more, no one loves us now. We are a miserable club with shit standards that serves only the owner's interests. There is a shitload of respect for Leicester.
  14. I'm not convinced we'd have a club to be proud of, that takes a lot of assumption. We might just end up with the most overpaid stroppy cunts ever assembled.

  16. The man who said he knew of a deal but couldn't discuss it, as discussing I meant it wouldn't happen? It's happening!! I'll bite this time. Pretty sure he didn't say it was solely based on whether he said anything. I'm guessing he knows as well as most of us that Mike is going to scupper any deals anyway, but didn't want to jeopardise it further for a few retweets or whatever. He remains one of the more trustworthy journos. He hasn't spoken of it, and it hasn't happened. Just because this makes him appear more credible doesn't make him more credible. I'm not basing his credibility on what he has or hasn't said about this. I'm basing it on his past articles/interviews etc. You're only as reliable as your last claim.
  17. We can guess as much as we like. Caulkin isn’t one to bullshit about stuff, so the likelihood is he knows nothing and therefor saying nothing. Theirs a chance that he’s been told to hang tight for more info or an exclusive. He’ll certainly have been trying to get in touch with Staveley in recent days. No point 2nd guessing what he does or doesn’t know though. I'm not guessing at anything. He clearly stated that there was another deal, ongoing, but if he spoke of it, it wouldn't happen. Since then nothing has happened and he hasn't revealed what it was. He's just another vulture, just not as ravenous.

  19. Well I would never compare the US to Saudi Arabia, but what I will say is that the US inflicts death and devastation across the globe in the name of profit. If we are going to be picky about who owns us, should we write off American investors as well? Even Britain is cosy with the Saudis, we don't have any qualms about doing business with them, so I think I'll be okay with it if they want to build us a fantastic football team which we can finally be proud of again. Pride is a funny thing. We'll join the band of clubs that are destroying the game, I wouldn't be proud of that. We can either be on the inside or on the outside. I suppose if I was going to take a purely moral stance I wouldn't watch football at all. I rarely do. Fair play, but I do and I want us to be up there again. We deserve to win something as much as anyone. By the same token, anyone who wants to walk away, I think you have to do what you feel is right. We don't deserve to win anything. We deserve to compete. If we just outbid the opposition we're not winning at football.

  23. I just want us to compete from the advantageous position that our support should accommodate. I've seen us compete at the top of the league, in cup finals, and in European semis. If we have to turn a blind eye to the murder of millions to take the next step, I think I can find it easy to compromise. ** The club is essentially dead to me whilst Ashley is here, and a few gallons of Arabian blood will not resurrect it. ** just realised how that sounds ambiguous. Success is not just winning things. We are always at a disadvantage to other clubs, simply because of location (stupid as that is), and will probably never win anything. But once upon a time I could visit any corner of the globe and be proud to be a Geordie. Never been a fan of football tops, but when people asked where you are from, they would always smile and a conversation would ensue. The existence of this thread, divisive amongst our own loyal followers, demonstrates that will no longer apply. I don't want to be world renowned for winning anything if it means I'm world renowned for enabling crimes against humanity. Nobody needs to be held personally accountable for anything.
