Do many PL teams have a better backup striker than DCL? Appreciate it’s not binary as some teams don’t necessarily have players that are ‘back-up’ as such, and others could swap positions of certain players if required.

DCL over Iheanacho all day every day for me like. Can’t remember the last time I saw Iheanacho look decent (*obviously I’ve only seen a very limited number of Leicester games this season).

Presumably because the fee we get for him would allow us to get a RW whom we deem better than him in the here and now.

Aye, but they’ve smashed it in the PL. How many youngsters come in from another league and do that? Very, very few. At present Minteh, in PL terms, is nothing more than a (very?) good prospect. It’s a monumental leap away from being worth anything like £100m. In fact I’d say as it stands, Lewis Miley is closer to that (and he isn’t remotely close).

Minteh’s only started 17 Eredivisie games. It’s a mad risk for anyone to be spunking £40m on him. Although, a team like Liverpool can afford to risk it and absorb the loss if he turns out to be Antony-esque.

Any potential transfer probably looks legit compared to Antony… I suppose the point about it being less if he were owned by an Eredivisie club is why we should snap the proverbial hand of anyone that offers that. It’s the kind of sale that helps you progress to the next level. Just have to make sure that the RW the money (presumably) gets spent on, is the right choice. Sometimes these type of players go on to become top level. But we’re not (yet) in a position to hold out for that. Chelsea sold de Bruyne and Salah but they still ploughed on successfully regardless.
