  1. “He turned you down, he turned you down, Ashworth turned you down”
  2. Tbf, she doesn’t actually say she was in the away end.
  3. This is my point. For the rights or wrongs of whether this lass should be getting these tickets, she’s literally only started on this FAB, and she’s already getting grief on SM.
  4. Fan Advisory Board Members announced. https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/introducing-newcastle-united-s-fan-advisory-board/ Anyone on here? Best of luck to them, hope they’ve got a thick skin or use SM very sparingly….
  5. Yes, that’s correct. The success rate of getting a ticket is supposedly around 30% for any given game, although obviously it probably varies a bit depending on how popular of a game it is. And people on here will tell you from personal experiences it can vary quite dramatically in terms of individuals. But in a way that’s sort of what you would expect from a random ballot. There’s obviously some other quite considerable gripes, particularly not being able to choose where you sit, other than a generic price band, which can cover a wide array of different areas. Your only other option is to find a ST holder who isn’t going to a game, and they can transfer their ticket over to you (just need an NUFC account for this, not a full blown membership).
  6. It was organised well enough. Bar having to queue from round the back of Barker and Stonehouse to get the bus there, and then the uncomfortableness of getting out the stadium, I didn’t really have a problem. But like others have said, if we return to playing them with standard allocations, there’s no need for it. The most recent matches against them prior to this showed that if you just let people get on with it, albeit still with a heavy police presence kicking about, things will be fine. FWIW I got told that the biggest contributing factor to this being a bubble trip was the Metro saying they couldn’t put extra trains on. Once they said that, those involved in making the decision felt it wasn’t possible to support the larger allocation unless they did it this way.

Tbf there probably wasn’t a great between them and Luton last season, and although they’ll likely still get relegated, Luton are at least making a fist of it this season. If you have a decent Championship squad and you can add a couple of higher quality players, like Luton have managed without too much outlay with Barkley and Townsend, you will give yourself a chance.
  8. No idea tbh. Not sure if he’d be allowed to have one given his position? He always seems to be with dad, so probably just got the tickets in the family.
  9. Seems a sound bloke from what I’ve heard of people who’ve had interactions with him. How he gets a ticket for games like this I’m not entirely sure mind, but probably best not open that can of worms…
  10. Well yeah, we all knew we were getting held back, but if they’d just provided a bit more info at the time it would have been helpful. Maybe one copper with a megaphone or something? I dunno, maybe that’s not practical ??‍♂️
  11. Yeah, tbh we queued and got a couple of beers before the game, and I half wished we hadn’t bothered as you could barely move on the concourse. My mate is an Inspector with Durham force and got drafted in to help with the away end yesterday (although I failed to spot him anywhere). He’s already had a couple of texts from me and I’ll be chewing his ear when I next see him… *as an aside before the game I saw Michael Oliver spill a pint (his own) over someone’s arm at the bar and by way of an apology he gave a him a different pint.
  12. Yeah, my mate who I was with has two football-mad boys of 10 and 8 and he was saying that even in the concourse before ko, he wouldn’t have felt comfortable having them there, nevermind what occurred getting out.
  13. For those that were there and in the lower tier, what were opinions on about the exit strategy they used? I understand the reasons for being held back. Not necessarily got a problem with that. But the lack of communication as to exactly what was going on and how long it was going to take eventually started to cause a bit of restlessness / aggro in the concourse. If the result had gone the other way and there was a prevailing mood of anger rather than happiness, things might well have got a bit nasty. Then outside the ground I wasn’t particularly impressed with the kettling tactic they used, where the exit was via a small gap that had a kerb and bollards in front of it, which you couldn’t see through a mass of bodies. Felt quite dangerous tbh.
  14. Virtually spot on with everything he said tbf. Not sure I like sensible mackems. Might have to have a browse of RTG to counter it.
  15. No. Wouldn’t say it was as good as Man Utd, which was somewhat of a disappointment, but it was alright.
  16. This video has still got me absolutely sent like. Must have watched it 100 times. Honestly if you were that fuming why would you still be in the ground after the final whistle? ? https://x.com/ellhurl/status/1743674789619757356?s=46&t=OQLMckSuatbpqWF13Al4mQ
  17. Credited with 9 tackles yesterday. Which is an obscene number for an attacking player.
  18. Is all a coping mechanism. Obviously we’ve lost derbies recently and in the past, some deservedly (not all mind), but there’s never been a absolute gulf in class like was evident yesterday. It’s palatable to tell yourself ‘they were better than us today, never mind’. But it’s a lot more difficult to admit ‘these are a completely different class to us, we’re miles behind them’, so you need something to lessen that reality.

Since the draw was made, they’ve sacked the manager, turned against the ownership, and now the supporters/flag group has packed in. Probably best they stay away from us for a bit longer.
  20. Because it’s a coping mechanism / comfort blanket for them.
  21. Birmingham v Villa has always seemed quite nasty to me? @brummie might be able to comment further?
  22. Yeah, that does look ‘off’ tbf. At best I think that might be what he was on when we first signed him, but he’s signed a new deal since then which I’m fairly sure would have been a rise.
  23. A few faces spotted in the away end: Ryan Taylor Matty Longstaff Michael Oliver Stephen Miller (Paralympian) Shola and Nobby were apparently in the Mag Cat Bar with the corporates.
  24. Was he not? He was at the match cos I saw him standing about outside the ground on the way in.
  25. Eddie says “thigh” and “big negative of today”. But in fairness he looked to be moving OK at the the end.
