Newcastle United 1-0 Arsenal (04/11/23) - Post match reaction from p. 46
Keggy_Keagal replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
These players man , this team, I just love them. Every time, they leave it all out there. I know it's old news but it's so hard to believe these are some of the same men as under Bruce. What Eddie and the staff have done is incredible. What a magnificent fucking club we are. Howay The Lads !! -
The doubles joes do it again !

We played poorly , away from after a tough game in the Champion's League midweek and got a point. I love our manager.

Good point that considering how poor at times we were defensively. Just seems that we wasted the opportunity to win it with having the lead twice and not addressing the dangers. Hopefully Howe rests the vast majority of the side as we look absolutely on fumes. Howay the lads . -

Our injury crisis is so bad it's starting to affect the opposition now. -

Lascelles reverting to his old days here , making poor decisions and some bad positioning. This commentary team are desperate for us to lose. We need legs on asap . We're completely knackered here as we're subjected to wave after wave of Wolves attacks. -

Eddie needs to get into these lads at half time. We've perhaps had a touch of luck to be a goal up so need to tighten it up and do the job second half. Burn badly struggling with the pace on his side. Strong argument that we should sub both him and Trippier . -

Bruno's been incredible. Running the show in midfield and leading by example. Him and Longstaff are holding us together the night -

Been coming we've been uncharacteristically poor at the back. Burn adn Trippier poor the night. Lascelles distribution not good enough. -

Is Trippier alright ? Is this his evil Wolves loving twin ? Never seen him so slack. -
Newcastle United 0-1 Borussia Dortmund (25/10/23)

Close game. Didn't get the luck with the Wilson shot or header. Injuries affected the side. Joelinton not back to his best yet, Miggy nullified and went into his shell somewhat and a few players weren't at their usual high standards (Trippier will never have so many corners and not produce an assist again in his life). Dortmund very strong tactically and great on their counters. It's an elite competition and we were found a little wanting. It's going to happen. I still think we can qualify from this group. Howay the lads !! -
Not even the stunning Daphne Blake ? Also they use Doo as Scooby and Scrappy's surnames but it's hyphenated so wouldn't it be part of their first name like Anne-Marie ?
-
They were certainly taking advertising money from Saudi Arabia from SED. SED is an Egyptian joint-stock company equally owned by the Saudi and Egyptian governments, with a capital of EGP 1.9bn. Also what's it got to do with Fred Jones from Scooby Doo ?

Whatever happens with Tonali he can't say he wasn't supported by us.
-
Not dead ? Not in tremendous amounts of pain? Not ruined ? Not interested.

Seems to be some very reactionary takes on players lately. Who's better that we can get ? Yes Ederson is better as is Allison but no chance of signing them. That's the level of replacement that we should be aiming for. As others have mentioned barring a catastrophic loss of form/injury Pope is fine for at least the next three seasons.

West Ham United 2-2 Newcastle United (08/10/23)
Keggy_Keagal replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
He was poor first half , did better second. He's got good feet and several times found himself in space with both hands up asking for the ball only for the ball to go elsewhere . He doesn't look to my eye switched on enough defensively especially when played in a centre midfield role. He needs time and to gain the trust of his teammates. I everyone was fit he wouldn't be getting the appearances that he does, but he's looking ok. -

Funny what happens when you start making chances for your lethal centre forward. -

Always a tough game this after the midweek however we've not been positive enough with the ball. Anderson looks lost whether its off the left or central. Isak is completely isolated and West Ham are so deep with the goal advantage there's no space for him to get in behind. Not that we're playing the right kind of balls to do that. This suits the way Moyes sets up so well. Eddie needs to change this . -
Tonali will be fine. He's only made something like 9 appearances for us, several of which were against the most difficult opponents we'll have all season. Has moved to a new country with the quickest most punishing league in Europe. His attitude and ability still shines. A little patience and faith in our brilliant manager and all will be well.

How long really would it have taken for them to say "ah actually that was a goal to the ref" an extra 30 seconds ? A minute ? We've all seen (usually with us being the victim of them) Var calls that have taken minutes upon minutes. Goals are the most fundamental part of the game. Can't have this carry on. Maybe we need to take the offside law back to the 1925 version (the one prior to 1990) where level didn't cut it and you had to have two players in front of you ?
