Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 Newcastle United (10/12/23)

Looking at silver linings, Howe is a learner, so hopefully when we're in Europe in future (and we will be, let that soak in, regular European football, how far away did that seem a few years ago) this situation won't be repeated. -

Howe's inexperience at this level has been shown up somewhat. We've been found out by the refusal to rotate earlier in the season. This month when decimated by injuries we've not been able to . The way we play ( which i love) is a high intensity pressing game and you simply cannot do that week in week out with this volume of matches and not see drop offs in performance. That being said we've had moments against both Everton and tonight at Spurs which in a different day could have gone our way and changed the course of the games. Not quite onboard with the criticism of Joelinton, I'm seeing a fella desperately trying to make things happen but both he and the rest of the team is fucked and experiencing a bit of a drop in confidence. Miggy has been awful mind and even Livramento cant get a read on the Spurs attack . -
Aye they did brilliantly considering most had asthma.

Players have had a real off night. Everton the better team worked hard and outplayed us. Trippier has had a shocker. It happens to most players from time to time. Tactically and physically we weren't at it and the few half chances we got we didn't take or get the bounce of the ball. Then when Everton scored we lost it mentally. A bad night but Eddie often learns from them. We've got to look at our away form and also have to get Isak into game more. Howay the lads.

Trippier being top drawer isn't new, but his reading of the game is at times supernatural. Also, someone needs to put the clip of the corner flag nutmeg moment.

McTominay is put into the Manchester United midfield to give them a physical presence , then he met Joelinton who bodied him.

HBA was always a player you had to allow free reign and in essence build a side to accommodate him. That doesn't really cut it in modern football when the likes of Messi in his pomp would still work for the side. To be fair to Hatem you did see him in games do a bit of graft but Pardew never seemed to give him a moments credit for it, a cleverer manager may well have been able to build on those moments and hopefully integrate those into his game more. He was far too often treated like our joker. Team in the shit, need to get summat out the match Pardew would send on Ben Arfa, sometimes he'd make something happen, then still be on the bench ,other times he wouldn't, so he'd still be on the bench, and often Obertan would be in ahead of him, incredibly frustrating for a tremendously gifted player. Barring that short period when it was HBA, Cisse and Ba, Pardew didn't have the first clue really on what to do with him. Which lead to Ben Arfa trying to throw a fridge at him I believe. As other said many times such a shame he never got to work with KK or Sir Bobby, you only have to look at his time at NIce to see what he could do to transform a team with a progressive coach.

Every time I see a player thread near the top of the page Iately I have to look to make sure they've not been in a bizarre gardening accident

Cracking captain , going over to defend the players. That's exactly the sort of character you want and need at the club .

Bit harsh on them both. If a certain player didn't have a gambling addiction Loongstaff would have been fresher or not even playing the night. Willock's still coming back from a serious injury layoff and as far as I can remember this was his first start . -

Beaten by the better , more seasoned team on the night. We changed things after going a goal down, had a go and came up short. Good experience for a lot of the players and for Eddie who seems to learn from every defeat. Ref was good, just didn't quite get the luck we needed and of course hampered by lack of options due to injuries and fatigue. No shame , they gave their all. Howay the lads !! -
You can have all the stats you want Joelinton was absolutely class in that game last night .

These players man , this team, I just love them. Every time, they leave it all out there. I know it's old news but it's so hard to believe these are some of the same men as under Bruce. What Eddie and the staff have done is incredible. What a magnificent fucking club we are. Howay The Lads !! -
The doubles joes do it again !

We played poorly , away from after a tough game in the Champion's League midweek and got a point. I love our manager.

Good point that considering how poor at times we were defensively. Just seems that we wasted the opportunity to win it with having the lead twice and not addressing the dangers. Hopefully Howe rests the vast majority of the side as we look absolutely on fumes. Howay the lads . -

Lascelles reverting to his old days here , making poor decisions and some bad positioning. This commentary team are desperate for us to lose. We need legs on asap . We're completely knackered here as we're subjected to wave after wave of Wolves attacks. -
