  1. You know its a bad day when Trippier is playing it to opposition players in our own area. FFS!!
  2. Got to learn from other teams. Look at Liverpool last week ,as badly as we've played we're only a goal down. Right changes and attitude we can get something
  3. Very poor . Trying to be positive in that Brighton's goal came from our mistakes. Midfield needs to be changed either personnel wise lr tactically. Miggy's also been absolutely anonymous.
  4. Missing the Willock/Joelinton combinations off the left. Also Willock will quite often drive forward out of midfield at pace with the ball. He's superb for when we're trying to counter
  5. Tonali and Guimares seem to be alternating who is playing the deep lying midfielder but quite often neither is sure exactly who's turn it is to sit and who's supposed make the advanced move.
  6. Why do keep playing high balls up to Isak ? That's not his game
  7. Great analogy .. I made a similar one to a pal, only used Mayweather.
  8. Hoping for a big performance and reaction against Liverpool.
  9. Brave of Howe giving Anderson a run in the midfield based on what we've seen so far
  10. England have to play Foden in this role in future. He looks World class here
  11. Said it before , so often Gordon's first touch takes him away from the space on the flank and into the traffic inside.
  12. We haven't played anywhere near the levels we can. City have been absolutely brilliant. Foden dropping off and running it in the space between midfield and defence. 1-0 down at half time isn't awful by any stretch but lets at least show what we can do second half. Great opportunity to test ourselves here.
  13. We're too respectful of City the night. Want the players up and firing at City . Also when we're on the ball out passing and touch hasn't been good enough. A loose touch here and you're not seeing the ball for minutes on end.
  14. Watching us when you've dicky ticker ? Brave fella you like.
  15. Keep having to remind myself this is Tonali's debut. What will he be like once he's used to the league??
  16. Yawn , typical Sky. Why's it a story that we're paying the going rate for players ? Villa for example have signed Diaby for 55 million , Torres for 33 and last season bought Carlos for 31 million and Coutinho for 20 million. Clubs buy players , clubs with more money tend to spend more on players , never this fuss when Liverpool are spending a load.
  17. The saving on the bandage budget in real terms brings the fee up to £40 million.
  18. Lavia looks like could be a real top drawer player .
  19. How are Liverpool not in breach of FFP ? They've spent over 240 million euros in a year and have brought in about 80 million euros.
  20. No-one knows if Szoboszlai was a genuine high level target. We all know the vast majority of the transfer tittle tattle comes from agents flapping their gums to the chick in the nests type journalists. For weeks it's been Maddsion this and Maddison that and now it seems we've not spoken to him since the turn of the year, of course it's not hurt his negotiating position with Spurs (when you're trying to get to the truth behind a lie always ask yourself who benefits ? Hmm Maddison and Caa Base Ltd, who incidentally represent 8 or 9 players on Newcastle United's books, maybe we allowed ourselves to be linked to Maddison to do them a favour) . The club and Ashworth have clearly had a strategy when it comes to transfers, the Isak deal only really went public when it was almost done, the same with Tonali, even going back to Trippier and Wood these happened fairly quickly with very little speculation except in the final few days before it being announced. We had a little more insight with Gordon but that was mainly because he was swerving training for Everton etc. I don't doubt we've spoken to various player's representatives at one stage or another in recent weeks and months but by and large we've shown we do very good business these days. If we have been looking at Szoboszlai it'll be up to a certain price and up to a certain wage, the minute that doesn't look like working for us Ashworth and co will be onto the next. It's very early in the window, Newcastle United in this era are a completely different animal, they're smart and experienced enough to have a considered plan but also smart enough to adapt on the fly if it benefits us. Howay The Lads !!
  21. Me and you could play midfield against this lot
  22. We have to play Joelinton left side of attack against Leicester. He'll destroy these. With Targett in behind as Maddison can't be arsed tracking runners so we'll have the overlap. Look at Jones's goal from Diaz's run . Its exactly what Joelinton has done several times this season
