Newcastle United vs. West Ham United - 26/08/17 @ 3pm (No TV)

Disappointed that neither Aarons nor Murphy are starting. I feel we need to change something on the wings and behind the striker, preferably Ritchie in the number 10 role. Just looked at West Ham's team, it's pretty strong except for Centre Midfield, if Hayden and Merino can get control of that then we've got a decent chance. -

£8m bid incoming Is that derisory enough? Didn't they pay £30m or something for him? Make that a £4.75m bid ? -

He was only here one season, and in that season we finished as high as we did thanks to his goals and Cabaye, and he was injured for a part of it. Best striker we've had alongside Ba in the Ashley era, as grim as that is. If he can replicate what he was like under Pardew then happy days, but I can't see it, which is the reason I'd prefer us going for Jovetic. He's practically admitted that in the press. "We go from signing what you want to what you can". Aye i remember. He also made it clear he had no intention of joining us permanently and chose to sit on Chelsea's bench for 3 years instead. Good player, wank attitude. -
I'll always remember "his goal" down at QPR. Me and my mates all thought it was a clever finish until we saw it on the telly when we got home

Remy!? Dear god! He's exactly the type of mercenary that got us relegated twice in the last 10 years. I hope we stay well away! -
I'd imagine not many clubs would want anything to do with him after his dodgy dealings behind Keegan's back, it's easy to forget how much respect Keegan still commands in the game, he was a megastar back in the day. Pretty sure Wise walked out on Leeds to take up the role here aswell. Basically everyone thinks he's a c*** ?

To an extent I suppose that's usually meant to be Lallana. Aye Lallana is about the closest we've got i suppose.
-
Dele Alli is a quality player but until he has a Christian Eriksen type to spot and pick out his runs then i don't think we'll see anywhere near the best of him. Him and Kane are both gona suffer because of the s*** alongaide them IMO.
-
Lingard One of the most pointless footballers going and he walks in the England squad every time ? :edit: Just remembered when he scored a goal last season and did that little dickhead dance which has made me dislike him even more.
-
Really can't work out how this knacker is still officiating Premier League games. Almost every time i watch a game involving him he drops a bollock. He's fucking abysmal.
-
He seems a very likeable lad and i feel bad for him in the fact that injuries seem to have decimated his abilities. However, there's no room for sentiment in football, especially at the moment when we've got a loads of unwanted s**** clogging up the squad. As someone else mentioned, he'll be on good money here and if he wants to play football he's probably gona have to take a pay cut, it all depends on which one is most important to him i suppose.

There are a couple of gems that kick around in the league, but generally the quality wasn't that high. The player (Douglas Luiz) that Man City signed then loaned out has some talent about him. It could be due to work permits for some of the players coming over from South America. Another factor could be the agent fee's that come up due to sometimes people owning the rights to players (kind of like the Tammy Abraham situation). I always think a football club would "make sure" they get a work permit for a player if they really wanted to but i hadn't thought about these dodgy agents owning the player rights, it's bound to put off a lot of clubs never mind us. -
Surely they're taking the piss out of some boy band? My guess would be Take That

Aye i've been saying this for years. He blatantly cried himself to sleep a few times when the "fat cockney b******" chants started. He's been on a mission to bleed the club dry and p*ss the fans off ever since. Fair play to him, he's doing a good job. He's actually gone one further and hypnotised a decent portion of the fanbase into believing him and accepting his way of doing things. He is actively making us a small club and a lot of our fans are either oblivious to it, or are ok with it. If we are 1st or 17th, he is not bothered, as long as we're in the Premier League. The most popular league in the world, the perfect place to advertise his company, and he will do it with as little expenditure as he can. The only time any significant cash see's the light of day is when the threat of the Championship looms, with the money McClaren got a necessity due to season after season of under investment. I'm sure we once went 18th months without signing anyone permanent. He knows he's unpopular and he knows he gets called names. This is his payback. Making us a thoroughly mediocre club that is fast losing its identity. Rafa is a world class manager, but even he will struggle to turn us around when this bloke is running Newcastle. This is the worst thing for me. A lot of fans fail to see how great this club could be if it was ran with ambition.

Rafa has signed quite a lot of South American players for his other clubs hasn't he? Considering our limited budget i'm surprised we haven't dipped into that market where clubs probably wouldn't be asking for huge fees. Having watched some Brazilian League the last couple of years i realise there's some absolute shite playing over there but surely there would be a couple of gems we could pick up for cheap? The likes of Benfica and Porto always seem to do quite well going down this route and (rubs his hands like Mike Ashley) make some massive profits on some players. -
Wow there are some doom mongers on here, bet yous hate Fridays and BBQs Huddersfield had it easy last week, there's no way we'll be as much of a walkover as Palace were and despite us having a poor transfer window, we've still got better players than them. The atmosphere for their first Premier League game will be bouncing but that could work for or against them. If we want to stay up reasonably comfortably then we need to be taking points from games like this, i'd be very surprised and dissapointed if we lost it.

Jovetic is one of the best strikers we've been linked with this summer, which makes me think it's probably a load of bollocks unfortuantely. -
First reply to that is awful. Aye it was an unnecessary attack. I've met Pete Graves before, he's a top bloke and a huge Newcastle fan.

Don't like the idea of using Clark at LB again and would like to see Ritchie used through the middle. Uddersfield's new striker looks quite handy in the air so i think i'd give Lascelles the nod over Mbemba for this one. Elliott Manquillo. Lascelles. Clark. Haidara/Gamez Hayden. Merino. Murphy. Ritchie. Atsu Gayle.
