Come on though, realitically what would we get for the players you mention. Wilson, almost 32 and always misses half a season through injury. Almiron, about to turn 30 and hardly a world beater. Longstaff, nice local lad but limited. You're looking at about £50m combined if you're lucky.

He'll be peak value then and we're hamstrung by FFP. Do you honestly think we can fund future big money transfers without selling at least one prize asset to comply with the rules?

Got to love FFP like. Chelsea bought the league in the 00's with zero consequences. City bought the league in the 10's with zero consequences. We are in a position to to that in the 20's but can't because of FFP. Not to mention of course that City and Chelsea are now in a position to abide by FFP due to the momentum they've built up in the years when FFP didn't matter.
